I think the Jags have a decent shot next week. Brady is typically at his weakest when he's facing a tough pass rush that gets in his face every play. Plus the Patriots run game is banged up and that's the one area the Jaguars defense looks mortal. It really just all depends on if Bortles will play nice.

Nick Saban couldn't cut it in the NFL so now he gets paid millions to yell at 18 year olds and gets lauded as this coaching genius for it.
Bama didn't beat anybody relevant until the playoffs but was given a spot anyway because f*** it, it's Alabama

Imagine if the Jaguars had even just a game manager at quarterback. They'd be in the Super Bowl in three weeks

Atlanta should get a lot of credit for just staying in. 11 of their games this regular season they played relevant teams that either contended for a playoff spot late or made the playoffs. If they make it back to the Super Bowl this year they'd have three tough road games.
My guess is they shut down from fatigue in the Super Bowl if they make it and are helpless to stop the AFC team, however.

If the Patriots screwed every team they traded with nobody would trade with them.
There's a reason Belichek didn't ship him to Cleveland

The correct scenario is a 50 year old Punk returning because the WWE has become a cesspool. New WWE President Ronald Reagan then orders robot Cena to stop Punk and the two fight at a snowy Wrestlemania. Punks wins with help from a one armed Daniel Bryan. Fixed. Two years before this Cena is outfitted with a robotic body after everything breaks down and he's forced to get a full body transplant. Bryan is too organic to go through with the same operation

Jimmy Haslam is the dumbest person to ever own a professional sports team right?
Green Bay has been good for 25 years but one 7-9 season and we've cleared house of everybody but the head coach. Browns go 1-31 and they've only changed their GM.

As long as we don't draft a running back at #3, I'm okay with what we got. Realistically, though... I think the Colts will try and trade down, but who wants to pick 3rd? This isn't a deep draft. Depends on where Luck is at health wise. Yeah focusing on the QB too much has put the Colts where they are at now but if they can get Mayfield at 3 and trade Luck for some picks/Joe Thomas from some dumb team, that would be a better solution than rolling the dice on Luck and getting about the same amount that you'd get for the third pick in the draft.

I'd be surprised if Atlanta gets past the Vikings.
Carolina is streaky and could be a dangerous team these next three weeks

Done to not give off the perception of McCarthy being a lame duck coach is my guess. Yeah contracts mean next to nothing when it comes to football. I can't wait to see the McCarthy led Browns come 2019

So, of the openings, what's the best & worst spot? Worst spot to me is the Colts, followed by the Bears. Both teams have no players, idiot owners, and a lack of upward momentum. You'd be pretty stupid to go there purely on hoping the QB situation works out. Best spot might be Detroit. The NFC North is tough when everyone is firing on cylinders, but who's to say Minnesota will maintain this momentum next season? The best spot is New York if you're patient. You're guaranteed a new franchise quarterback in the draft regardless of what the Browns do. You're guaranteed Darnold, Mayfield, and/or Rosen are available. You've got a new GM who has said outright he's here to kick ass and take names. You've got an owner willing to be patient and give you an honest shot. If you win the Super Bowl you're going to be able to stay two years later than you should late in your career. Finally, you're in a cold city but at least it's the greatest city in the world and not falling apart like Detroit or a small market like Indianapolis.

Shawn Michaels had the best match of: -Undertaker's career. -Bret Hart's career. -Hulk Hogan's career (20 years past his peak, mind) -Mick Foley's career before the f*** finish. -Scott Hall's career. -Kevin Nash's career. -Agruably John Cena's career.
Randy Savage had the best match of: -Ultimate Warrior's career. -DDP's career. ... and that's about it. Flair-Steamboat is superior to Savage-Steamboat and the build to Hogan-Savage was better than the actual match.

Welp, everything ends eventually.
I was just about the only Thompson supporter left of the Packer fans on this forum. He definitely should have been more aggressive with free agents, but I subscribe to his general strategy of building through the draft. He didn't have a lot of home run picks, but he also didn't have too many strike out picks. And, outside of Bennett this year, just about every FA who does end up in Green Bay are worth the price. That being said, though, this year proved that a lot of Green Bay's success has been built through Rodgers. Without him we had to go to OT to beat both the Browns and the Bucs. We like to brag about how 90% of our roster are homegrown guys but 90% of the roster also either sucks or are injured. It's also obvious that McCarthy will be on the hot seat next year. If he hadn't won us a Super Bowl he'd probably be walking this year.

I am astounded that they would even consider bringing Jackson back after going 1-31 over two years. And bear this in mind: A lot of this suckiness is actually bad coaching. It's one thing to have nothing talent wise, but how many times this year have the Browns committed a stupid penalty that kept someone's drive going? Thrown the ball in the middle of the field with no time outs left and gotten no points out of it? Declined a penalty that should have been accepted? A lot of this stupid stuff is purely Jackson and Co.'s fault. Pray tell, what does he have to do next year to keep his job? Would 3-13 suffice? The owner used to be a minority owner of the Steelers. That's really my only explanation for all of this unless Jimmy is so dumb he needs his wife to dress him for work
