He was more John McClane than Goku here. I absolutely love this comparison. It sums up how I felt about Cena the character during this match in a perfect way that I wouldn't have been able to accurately articulate myself.

The Bryan vs. Sheamus 2 out of 3 Falls match might be one of the most underrated matches of the last 10 years just because it was on the same card as Punk/Jericho and Brock/Cena. At just about any other show it would've been the easy MOTN. I will never stop saying that Sheamus/Bryan is better than almost any of Danielson's ROH matches. It's just so good and it's unfairly overshadowed by 18 seconds. I really wonder what Bryan's trajectory looks like if he and Sheamus had that match at Wrestlemania. Sheamus might well have been made for life off of that. I disagree with this just because I can think of 20 matches just from Bryan's reign as Champ in ROH (nevermind his entire run in the company) that superseded this match but it was still incredible and deserves way more love than it gets. I think if they have that match at Mania YES is not the most over thing the night after and, although there's a good chance Bryan still wins the title at some point, he probably never reaches the level of popularity he did in our timeline.

Meh⊠itâs the definition of an album that exists. Reading around it kind of sounds like they just hammered it out to get their final record on their Roadrunner deal out of the way. Kinda comes off that way. Oh well. Ah that's a shame, I was really looking forward to listening to this when I got home from work. I loved Chapeltown Rag and Yen. The Dying Song also grew on me so to hear it's pretty skippable is a bummer.

I mean, that's the Targaryens for you, since incest among the noble houses was the way of Valyria to "keep the blood pure." The rest of the realm grudgingly goes along with it, though it took Maegor to like, basically roast the Faith Militant alive with Balerion to beat the Faith of the Seven into submission. Until then, they declared any of the Targaryen children born of siblings to be abominations, though first cousins were generally acceptable.Â
Also why there was so much inter-marriage between the Targaryens and Velaryons. Both Valyrian families (the Celtigars are also of Valyrian heritage, though they're really not that prominent; the Baratheons also have heritage of Valyria through founder Orys who married the daughter of the last Storm King during Aegon's Conquest). That way, you could keep the blood of Old Valyria "pure" while also being a lot less incestuous.
Yeah, I know I just find it funny with how they go about it and the lines they won't cross like the obvious ones being close intermediate family (brother/sister) but everything else outside of that is fair game. Brother/sister isn't unheard of for the Targs either tbf. It is certainly less common but far from unheard of.

I think you mean he dropped it to James "BY GAWD" Gibson. Seriously, I remember watching that match rooting so hard for Daniels but Gibson's promo in the build was absolute f***ing fire. Also would say I don't think Punk's reign was a thank you reign. Gibson's certainly felt that way but Punk's was one of the biggest indie storylines of all time. I assume this was meant as a reply to something else. Yeah, it was meant to be a reply to the post above yours. No idea how I managed to f*** that one up, sorry man!

The Bucks have mostly been promoting their shoes with AEW talent. Kenny's just vibing in Japan. Ian not mentioning Punk's ROH reign was definitely something. Even if the reign itself was basically a thank you reign before he dropped it to Jamie Noble (seriously) on his way to WWE. I think you mean he dropped it to James "BY GAWD" Gibson. Seriously, I remember watching that match rooting so hard for Daniels but Gibson's promo in the build was absolute f***ing fire. Also would say I don't think Punk's reign was a thank you reign. All jokes aside, if Jimmy G wins the SB this year, Joe Flacco & Trent Dilfer will no longer be the worst QBs to win it all. I get that the Jimmy G hate is strong here but that might be the statement I've disagreed with most during my entire tenure on this forum.

Going to put something in spoiler tags. It's not spoilery per se but it involves my feelings on certain characters which give an indication on where their actions may go from hereon out so that is the warning for any non book readers... {Spoiler}I am legitimately impressed with how the characters have been written thus far. Most of the changes from book to show haven't bothered me as a) they still make sense and b) we know that thr narrative in Fire and Blood is unreliable at best. I did hate the end of Ep 5 because I feel like that change of Cole just randomly exploding Joffrey's head in front of everyone should lead to immediate execution and the Kingsguard looked wholly incompetent at their inability to break it up - Ser Harwin excepted. Bur my main point is I am so impressed by the writing of the characters because I have a lot of friends watching this who have not read the books and all of them feel some sort of sympathy for Cole and Alicent, with some actively rooting for them. The fact that they've managed to illicit sympathy for characters as scummy as those two without altering the story all that much is testament to how much they've been able to flesh them out as characters.

Going WCW because I think that's what I would've chosen pre show. And even having watched both shows WCW definitely won this one. Its a very consistently good show whereas the WWF show was awful until the main event which, IMO, is the best match on either show

Don't bother, it's clear some folks have had their minds made up since the whole story first broke. Hell, probably before that in a lot of cases. Khan is a spineless wuss who is more concerned with being a friend than he is a leader or a boss and when told something he doesn't like goes and overdoses on his precious cocaine. I have no respect for him and he's not worth the spit in my mouth I say this with all sincerity amd not trolling in any way shape or form but are you okay man? Cos this is not an emotionally healthy response.

I've been watching House of the Dragon, it's about a likeable but weak ruler failing to deal with scheming politicians, increasing violence and petulant factions in world where women are an afterthought. For some reason this made me think of aew. It made me work out the booking answer to everything. Focus on the dragon and do a 2 year timejump. I mean if they just wanna do a 2yr timejump and focus on Bryan I'm game. Certainly would be cathartic to move on from this shitshow.

CM Punk winning title while turning heel. Moxley gets left in a pool of blood. FTR turns heel along with Punk. Wardlow attempts to stop FTR and his shocked by FTR actions. Wardlow gets triple team and finally gets left in his own pool of blood. Out comes MJF to save Wardlow from future bloodshed. MJF turns face. This will be the major storyline coming out of PPV. Not sure how I'd feel about FTR turning heel just cos of how over they are but that actually sounds awesome and I kinda hope they do it.

There are ten thousand different ways you can spin a number like that depending on your motivation, ranging from "AEW is not showing signs of sustained growth" to "AEW is consistently the #1 program on cable on Wednesday nights." Really, the most notable thing to me is that this demonstrates that WWE's momentum did not, somehow, affect AEW's viewership like some speculated it would. I donât see how others would speculate WWE gaining momentum would affect AEWâs viewership negatively, itâs not like thereâs any other option to tune into on Wednesday nights. If anything for me, WWE gaining momentum makes watching AEW more exciting as you know Tony Khan will do what it takes to top them. This weeks dynamite proved that Iâd say. I get it to a degree. The older I get the less time I'm able to dedicate to wrestling. At this point I only have time to watch Dynamite, Rampage and PPVs and the odd other show. If WWE becomes the better product I wouldn't have time for 5 more hours of wrestling so something else would have to give. I don't doubt it's been exaggerated but I don't think it's completely invalid as a point.

PSG have decided to let Gini Wijnaldum go. Heâll probably end up going on loan somewhere. He had a rotten season last year but heâs still only 31, wouldnât be surprised to see a few clubs sniffing around him. Iâd even take him back at Liverpool as cover. Roma look the likely landing spot for him. Mourinho making some great signings so far.
