This is Wade Keller commenting on the Savage-WWE situation, it's the first time I've heard either Keller or Meltzer mention the Steph stuff.
John Lucas asks: Ask the Editor is my favorite feature on the website. Here's a question. Vince McMahon has always put aside bad feelings towards others in the interest of doing business and making money. However, this does not hold true for Mach Man Randy Savage. What is the problem Vince McMahon has with Randy Savage? Does Savage have an issue with McMahon?
WK: It's one of the most widely speculated questions in the industry, and most people on the inside who speak about this believe it has something to do with interaction Savage had with Stephanie McMahon years ago. Savage left WWE where he was co-hosting Raw for WCW to become an active wrestler again and enjoyed a resurgence of his in-ring career at that point, but many wrestlers left under similar circumstances that McMahon has welcomed back in the interest of generating fan interest. I do know that McMahon bristles at the mere mention of Savage's name, and it's considered taboo within WWE to even acknowledge Savage in front of McMahon. McMahon has made is clear over the years bringing Savage back is out of the question and no up for debate.

Wait, how does this confirm the Steph stuff?
It just says that Vince doesn't want any involvement with Savage.

I've never believed he actually had sex with her, but I do believe that he might've touched her inappropriately.
Knowing how much Vince cares for his children, he probably promised that he would never be an employee of his again.

Why is he still featured on DVDs, MSG Classics, and even was the subject of an interview in WWE magazine a few years ago?
This just adds evidence that the writers of NEWZ sites know nothing.

He doesn't confirm anything there at all.
I still think that Savage just requires huge payouts for even cameo apperances.

I've never bought into this rumor. I think it's just stupid.
My theory on Savage not being back is: Savage & Hogan hate each others guts....Vince sees Hogan as more money than Savage and therefore puts up with Hogan's shit over Savage's potential shit.

Perhaps for the same reason that they show footage of Sting, despite never having set foot in a WWE ring. If there's money to be made, who is Vince to argue with the particulars of how and why? Although, I must also say, for the record, that I don't believe McMahon's obvious dismissal of all things Randy Savage has anything to do with possibly abusing Stephanie.

This doesn't even "confirm" anything, not even that McMahon will never bring him back or that McMahon hates hearing his name mentioned.

How about whatever Crapper next attends a live Raw just yells "SAVAGE!!!!!!" as loud as he/she can when Vince comes out? If Vince bristles on live TV, then we'll know for sure.....

I heard the rumor started in Usenet when Scott Keith was still posting there. Maybe we should ask him about the whole situation.

I seem to recall J.R. doing a promo for the WWF hotline (or whatever the heck it was called) during the early days of the Monday Night Wars in which he intimated that McMahon was having a meeting with Savage. I believe the quote was something along the lines of, "Is Mr. McMahon going to have a 'Macho' week? Get the latest news on....blah blah blah."
These teasers were seldom accurate but I dimly recall the two apparently met for a power lunch during that period. If Vince really did hate Randy and refuses to acknowledge him why would they have done the lame, throwaway teaser? They could have easily tossed in Flair or Hogan's name if it was pure BS.

Who the Hell is Wade Keller? An "internet wrestling journalist" who is only slightly less credible than rajah.com. Seriously, the stuff I've read about him and Bob Ryder...yikes. I heard the rumor started in Usenet when Scott Keith was still posting there. Maybe we should ask him about the whole situation. Oh, man...that'd be a great guy to dig up. Scott Keith? Mr. Netcop himself? Wowsers...I remember when he turned into a mean-spirited sad little workrate mark. Which is too bad, because some of his reviews were absolutely STELLAR. That being said...I'd laugh when he got torn apart by the crowd around here and started ranting on us (and not the fun kinds of rants that I used to enjoy reading on the old wrestlemaniacs.com and wrestleline.com sites where he was published with Rick Scaia and Mike "Micasa" Samuda...the kind where he berates people and generally makes an ass of himself). Knowing Keith and how his work went way downhill and what not, he'd flip out, start flaming, and get banned. On second thought... Anyone know how to reach him? I used to remember his old website, but it's been years.

Well, I don't know if that necessarily means that he's not on bad terms with Vince. I think if he ever gets the full, non hatchet job DVD collection treatment and an induction in the HOF, then we can squash these rumors, but for now, I'm not certain. I mean, McMahon's a business guy. There's no reason for not bringing Savage back at some point, unless there's something really personal there. I'm not exactly lending any credence to the Stephanie thing, and I'm especially not lending credence to Keller, but doesn't it seem like there's something there?

I think most people wouldn't deny there seems to be some bad blood there, but the immediate correlation between- 'they have issues with one another' to ' he messed with Steph' is pretty flimsy

Also, something to consider...
Randy Savage isn't all there. You know? He's goofy as a pet coon [ /JR }, and most have described him as a very paranoid individual. The lack of wanting to get back in with the WWE could be of his own accord, and not anything to do with Vince McMahon.
Yes, I just stuck up for Vinny Mac. The apocalypse is upon us all!
