I was looking into why Triple H's move is called the "Pedigree". Ever since I was little, I usually associated it with the dog brand, and now having a lot more knowledge, I may have figured it out. Of course, if others have already figured it out, you may look ahead and just mumble "what an idiot" and be on your way. But, hey, I'll take a moment of pride anyday. Okay, in biology, a pedigree is a chart that maps family lineage of genetics. It is basically used for charting diseases that run in the family and predicting what characteristics children will have. Now, knowing that Triple H's first gimmick was of a snooty, Blue Blood, it makes sense that his move is the Pedigree, considering he has inherited wealth from his family. Now it has taken on a new meaning with the whole "married to Steph" thing now that he is a 10 time champion. He has basically inherited most of the company through Steph now. Hence, the Pedigree. For those who just skipped this explanation, did you already figure this, or am I just incredibly dim-witted?

I thought it was pretty clear when the blue-blood gimmick started.

Uhhm, well I don't think they thought it through that much.
The name just stuck with the blue blood gimmick

I thought it was pretty clear when the blue-blood gimmick started. Figures. But to give me some credit, I was only 8 when Triple H debuted with the Blue-Blood gimmick

Didn't HHH's trainer (can't remember who) use it before he himself did? Or am I just high ?

Yeah, I'm sure they don't still acknowledge the Pedigree due to Trips inherting everything through Steph. After all, he's convinced himself he'd still be where he is today without her. Though you do make a very good point, the name of the move just kind of stuck over the years. Like how Bret changed the name of the Scorpion Death Lock to the Sharpshooter, 'cause he's the Hitman. And now, it's always called the Sharpshooter in WWE even when a non-Hitman does it, simply because they're used to calling it that.

No its because of the dog food. HHH eats lots of dog food so what better tribute than naming his finisher after the food he loves so much.
