Before EVERY show there' s a "don' t do this at home" message. There' s a reason for that. If people can' t understand the meaning of these five simple words, they have no-one to blame but themselves.

isn't television the third parent? so for all you who say the parents are to blame ipsofacto you are saying the WWE is to blame! and I'm not sure I agree with that

Neither. It's the kids responsibility not to be that damn stupid. The WWE show all the 'don't do this at home stuff' so they are covered, while parents should obviously mention not to do it at home either, but in the end its down to the kid.
Personal responsibility. That's what's wrong with the world in general today. Everyone wants to find someone to blame and wont take any responsibility for themselves.

It's everyone's responsibility.
WWE: They have a disclaimer and are doing their part. Parents: This would be their designated purpose of existence...to keep their kids in line and be there to love and provide. Some people are just shitty parents which is neither the WWE or the child's fault. Children: Should know the difference between what's real and what's not. Just like they should have sense enough that some shit just might hurt.
In the end, if the child fails it most likely originated with the parents. WWE should be held innocent in all cases because they have a disclaimer. People just need to take responsibility for being f***-ups in life.

I say Parents and the kids themselves. I dont understand why there is so many stupid kids around nowdays. I mean, how stupid do u need to be to be trying these moves that these guys have been studying and training and practicing for YEARS! WWE doesnt even need to say "Dont try this at home" its like requiring stove companies to write "DO NOT SIT ON STOVE WHEN ITS TURNED ON". Its complete stupidity and I think it has come up lately because in the past kids were smarter I dont think I heard of stuff like this b4 but maybe parents in the past did a better job too, so I think it is Parents and the Kids, I mean not much u can do if ur kid is a retard u know what im sayin.
But I think WWE should have NO responsibility at all and are foing far and beyond of what they should to "protect" RETARDED kids and themselves from stupid lawsuits and censorship because this whole dont try this at home think is stupid for retards.

In all honesty, if any blame is to be placed it should be on the parents. But in reality, blame shouldn't really be placed.
Kids are naturally mean to other kids... whether they're giving each other FU's or just punching each other in the face, bullying and hurting each other... even in play.. is natural for kids.
Saying, "Well, they saw it on WWE." basically sounds the same as, "My kids are idiots and will imitate EVERYTHING bad they will ever see." So goodbye all forms of entertainment... as everything, in that light, is bad.

Stop using the term "retard" in that context. Thank you.

I'ma go with the general concensus here, it's the parents fault for being lousey parents; and the kids for lacking the common sense to think before doing something.

Because kids are naturally cruel to each other. Chances are, the kids who are really hurting each other with wrestling moves would've hurt the same kids with punches, kicks or hitting them with other objects instead. They're unstable as is.... and instability isn't directly the fault of the parent. Instability has been around since the dawn of time, the only thing blaming the media accomplishes is giving those who already hate a product more reason to hate it. Yes, there are times when it's just plain bad parenting. But if wrestling, music, movies, TV and everything else were shut down so that everyone in the world had to work in fields and sit around staring at walls.. there would STILL Be cruelty amongst children. You can't fight nature. But, for some people, you sure as hell can use that natural tendency to fight something you dislike for no real reason.

parents. Easily. I played Mortal Kombat a lot when I was little but I never ripped out anyone's spine. My mom told me that was wrong.

With all the technology available to parents these days in the forms of V-Chips and parental controls on Internet Browsers/firewall content filtering.
If your kid is watching WWE, you should watch the program and decide if it's what you want your child watching. It's not up to WWE to be the "bad guy" who dumbs down their content for kids, the "bad guy" is you to say "You shouldn't be watching this"
Hell, at the very least if it's something you're not sure of, watch it with them, and if something gets to objectionable you change the channel for that segment.
If you say it's on the WWE, then you are of the mindset that parents should not have to monitor what their kids do and just be hands off in the direction of their child. If that's you.. then Hank Hill wouldn not approve.

Of course it's on the parents. About the V chip, it's funny because most parents know more about computers from school then parents do so they should be able to disable it. Of course that could have been just me. Scrambled porn at 13 ruled.

No it's the parents' fault. They need to explain that what these guys are doing is dangerous and if you wanna play like they do expect to get hurt like they do. It's not Vince McMahon or Dixie Carter's job to raise everyone's kids.

If I ever have kids I am going to explain to them from the get go that pro wrestling is just a show and that no moves are ever to be attempted.
