I hate to rain on the parade, but damn, how I wish this was the OTHER Hardy getting this push.

I'm really happy for Jeff, I just hope that Matt still gets the push that he deserves.

Im all for Jeff but I think Matt deserves it a little bit more. Here's hoping we have both Hardy's as Champions of their respected brands next year.

I would mark like crazy if that happened.

Well, that would be one hell of a way to do it.

This is one time where I hope the glass ceiling stays intacts and keeps down young Hardy. Just something about him rubs me the wrong way.

At the risk of sounding negative, something about Hardy in a main event slot doesn't feel right. It just doesn't seem to fit, he's always felt like a solid upper mid carder. And i'm a fan of his

I like jeff but i dont think he'll get the world title just yet because I think when he gets it he will hold it for a while, and I don't see him main eventing wrestlemania as champ unless he faces hbk and they do a jericho-hbk type deal with jeff and shawn

Hardy's in the Main Event. And I'll be damned if he's gonna get pushed out by someone with half the talent and half the fan support. That's a lie and you know it. We all know Lashley has zero fan support. Damn, you beat me to it!

i grew up watching the attitude era and the Hardy's in their tag team prime, my question is, hasn't Jeff always been over? people have been talking how big his pops have been but i mean, hasn't he always had a large fan base, along with matt? I think hes just getting what he deserves as far as the main event status, hes put in alot of time/hard work, albeit the stint in TNA, and is a great performer... in rehards to Lashley's return, i know he has no fan base, i know hes awful on the mic, but damn it if i don't love watchin the guy wrestle, his match with John Cena at the ppv that i can't remember was spectacular and id love to see him be a major player on ECW or Smackdown, Raw has so many superstars on it, why fit a poor player on the mic on raw? way to go on Jeff's part though

Jeff would make a great champion, transistional or even with a decent run. He's uber-over and always is. If he can stay clean and stay uninjured, then i would mark for a championship win.
However, while many seem to feel Jeff rubs them the wrong way, i find myself being rubbed the wrong way by the Other one, who i just cannot picture in that top spot.

I have been fan of both Matt and Jeff Hardy, since like 2000 or so. Well with some of the older guys retiring in the next year or two, WWE have to begin pushing some of the younger talent sooner or later. I can see both Matt and Jeff to have the WWE title or WHC title ether by the end of next year, or by some point in 2009. And I kinda hoping Matt have a fued with Edge for the WHC, since those two have some great matches in 2005. I also can see MVP be in the main event status as well by next year.

I like Jeff and everything, but I just cant see him as a legit top player. He is pretty over but only because there arent that many others really over today with exception of the ME players who have been around for 10 years. (shawn, trips etc.) Cena is gone and they havent done anything to Orton to help get him over really. Hardy should take advantage of this because he is a small guy. No bigger than your average guy who buys a ticket for the cheap seats and he would never get this kind of opportunity in the attitude era or the rock n wrestling era. So he should savor this moment. He would of been current jerker or middle of the card. No mic skills, not the greatest ring worker like bret or shawn, not much of a personality, and no size.

Triple H actually DID put Hardy over big time in that match. The only thing I didn't like was him smiling immediately afterwards. It seemed pretty stupid, almost like breaking kayfabe. I know it wasn't, but it does not fit his on-screen role. He should have acted pissed like Razor Ramon when Waltman beat him for the first time, come out on RAW, seemingly to attack Hardy with a Sledgehammer but then decide to not do it and congratulate him.

Triple H put Jeff over big time, and it showed Jeff can work a match without relying only on his two patented moves.
I think Jeff deserves an actual chance for the belt, and he's a fresh face in the otherwise stale Main Event scene.
I wasn't a big fan of his as a single wrestler, I actually thought the "nostalgia/welcome back" factor would have faded away soon, leading to another firing, but he managed to won me over. Kudos to him, to Triple H doing the right thing (not suprised...) and to WWE if they'll give him a fair shot at main eventing.

Though I'm not sure if Orton's retaining at the Rumble, I don't see Jeff Hardy getting a superman push either way. (And part of me doesn't want him to get one, because him in that role would be a bit silly to me.)
He'll probably get some quick, Foley-ish runs just so JR can go on about him being a 2-time world champion or whatever.

If Trips didn't, then Hardy getting a clean pin on Orton tonight definitely did. The guy's getting a push of a lifetime, and as long as he doesn't screw it up, I think he's in for great things in the near future. Best thing about Hardy's victory over Trips is that both men came out of it looking great. They should build him up in an IC title program on the side. He can feud with Orton AND have to defend his IC title against a hungry opponent at the same time. Maybe, FINALLY, this is a chance to elevate the IC title up to around US Title status. Make this once-great title actually mean something again. I just don't see him as a World Champion right now.
