JBL is an in ring competitor again...on RAW!
Flair is back....on RAW!
no one from RAW has been sent to Smackdown to replace them.
You know with all these great wrestlers on RAW, some will get lost in the shuffle; please send some to Smackdown for the wrestler's sake, for Smackdown's sake and for our sake!
this sucks.

I'll admit to never really liking Smackdown. In the mid 90's, when the Monday Night Wars were just getting started, it was tough enough to watch two programs, let alone four. RAW, Nitro, Smackdown, Thunder, etc...
There's just something about the format of that show that doesn't click. Michael Cole doesn't help matters. I never really cared for Batista or Rey Rey. I like Finlay and Edge, but they're not enough to make me turn the channel, especially when neither of them are used properly. Sure, you could argue that Edge is the WHC, but I don't want to see him making out with Eddie Gurerro's widdow.
I dunno. I just never liked it.

I'm going to go tonight to the tapings in Rochester, NY tonight and if it sucks live, then I'll agree.

I like Smackdown. As long the Undertaker and Edge are there, i shall still watch. Not keen on Batista, but i'll live. Flair did nothing on SD, so who cares.
Only real loss here is JBL but i shall wait to see who they get in to replace before i say its a bad idea.

Flair did nothing on SD, so who cares. True, he did nothing on Smackdown...but it would have been good for Smackdown if he had this new angle on that show instead of RAW.

I do agree w/ you to an extent; awesome seats up close to the ring do make the overall experience better than it might come across on TV, but if the show completely sucks, then it sucks no matter where you're sitting. I mean, if we get Khali shoved down our throats tonight, then it'll suck no matter if you're sitting right behind the broadcast team or if you're in the nosebleeds. It's the Christmas spending season so I couldn't shell out the money necessary for ringside seats, so I'll be in the nosebleeds (which aren't too bad considering the arena isn't exactly huge). My only motivation for being up close tonight would be get some "Brood" chants going - last time Edge was in Rochester, a couple of us got him going w/ "bloodbath" and "Brood" chants from ringside.

To me Smackdown always seems like the more kid friendly show, more characters, more over the top stories. I dont think any of them would care about Flair. However, if they wanted to turn Batista heel, i guess this would have been a good opportunity.

Its not that I think the angle is a better fit for Smackdown than RAW...its just hat Smackdown needs something. I'm tired of the same old stuff on smackdown every week. Maybe this new Edge thing will be a change of pace ( I hope ). The Flair storyline would just be another reason to want to watch smackdown for me. Its a good storyline, one that makes every Flair match matter.

Ah, im beginning to see that you're a bit of a Flair fan. Personally i dislike his matches now and dont find him entertaining, which is why i wouldnt really want him on SD as i prefer SD of all the shows.
I think it's a shame that Flair is now this sympathy card non-threat old man wrestler. It's realistic, but it doesnt really make his matches worth watching as you know he'll win every one until 'mania.

I just thought of something....you have a new champion on Smackdown tonight. Knowing Edge, he may have somekind of a cool celebration or something. That alone could lead to a decent Smackdown in my opinion.

I honestly enjoy Smackdown at the moment. It's not what it used to be before the draft, but it's still an entertaining show and focuses more on the wrestling than RAW does. It uses everyone on the roster intelligently too, which is nice to see.
I'm surprised JBL is returning to the ring. I thought he'd pretty much had to retire because of his injuries.
