I have this idea for Lashley's return and I'd like to hear what everyone has to say about it.
Pretty much it would start with Kennedy upsetting Vince or Regal or one of the GM characters and getting put into a match to punish him, but not being told who his opponent is. From there Lashley would be the opponent and destroy Kennedy in a fairly 1-sided match. From there you'd have Santino Marrella run into him backstage and welcome him back and start sucking up to him. For weeks this would go on with Santino palling around with Lashley and even interfereing in Lashley's matches genuinely trying to help him out and actually helping him win matches where the heel attempted to cheat but was thwarted by Marella. Eventually leading to the two teaming up and sort of a face turn by Santino, but with him retaining his mic skills and doing most of the talking for Lashley.
Eventually when a face gets the WWE title Lashley could set his sights on that, only to have Santino accidentally cost him the match, and Lashley finally realizes that Santino's been cheating for him. Eventually the two have a falling out and a match gets booked where Santino and a top level heel rival of the current champ, take on the champ and Lashley, all leading up to Lashley re-alligning with Santino to beat down the champion and then stating that people turned on him, and would rather cheer John Cena, and the current champion, but now he knows who his friends are(Santino) and from this point on he's only looking out for him and his people.
The point of this would be to make Lashley a heel main eventer, elevate Santino, and put Santino in place as Lashley's mouthpiece. And also to preserve some continuity between the two. Furthermore it could lead to an IC title push for Santino with Lashley helping him win it again, and many other possibilities like a revisited feud with John Cena.
So any thoughts?
