I've seen it at the local book store many a time. Between the review on the site and your review here on the forum, I've been itching to pick it up.

Isn't that the book where they blame all the WWE's current problems on Triple H?

I remember reading it in a book store, and honestly not enjoying it that much. I felt like I was reading a book from an IWC member during 2003. It just seemed like every little problem was automatically linked to Triple H. "My mother died of cancer in 2003, the same year Triple H had an endless title reign. This can not be a coincidence...Triple H killed my mother, and raped my father!"

Isn't that written by Scott Keith?
I just read one of his books, "Death of The World Wrestling Federation" where, you guessed it, everything was HHH or HBK's fault. He was also pretty brutal on The Undertaker's ring work.
I only read it because it was $5 on clearence. And yes, it sounds like one big rant by a uber-smark on a power trip.

No, James Guttman wrote the book. It's pretty funny, and I've read it a couple of times. Yes, there is one chapter in particular that shows the first several feuds Triple H was involved in after his real-life marriage, and how he may have been manipulative in making sure that everyone he worked with (except for HBK and maybe Nash) looked bad in the end. Guttman repeated one phrase occasionally in the chapter where he says that after looking at all the feuds, Triple H was either a cunning, manipulative backstage politician or a bumbling idiot for the feuds to turn out the way he did, and that he (Guttman) respected Triple H too much to call him an idiot.
However, that was just one chapter among a sea of other problems that are other peoples' faults. One chapter highlights the amazing transformation the McMahon family (except for Linda) went through from being cowardly, normal, "real" human beings to being superhuman, jumping 50 ft. off of screens, going over on guys like Big Show and the Undertaker, etc. Another one talks about the schoolyard mentality that WWE breeds in the locker room; another about how dumb Johnny Ace is; another still talks about all the dumb stereotype gimmicks ethnic wrestlers have.
So you see, Guttman spreads the blame all around, all the while giving WWE credit on a good number of things when warranted. I recommend the book to all wrestling fans, especially those with a sense of humor.

I read the book, and will admit that the writer made Triple H to be the anti-christ of pro wrestling. There is one who chapter on how Triple H buried everyone he worked with over a period of two years, one chapter on how the McMahon family have become unstoppable in-ring forces, and one chapter on stereotypes in wrestling. The book is nothing special, but if you hate Triple H and the McMahon family, you'll love it.

Yeah I had it for a lil bit. It's funny, ridiculously biased and a lil over the top, but a funny read.
