Kevin Nash is one of the 5 most charismatic wrestlers of all-time in my opinion.
Heel Diesel was possibly the coolest wrestler ever. Even his theme music with the semi engine was cool.
He definitely got a little on the lame side as a babyface catered to the kiddies (kind of like Cena) but his final 6 months in the WWF as heel/tweener Diesel made up for it.

I find him best when his delivering some humor, Diesel Nash being all serious is something that comes off as extremely fake.

His matches with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were always awesome. One of my favorite matches to this day is HBK defending the WWF title against Diesel at IYH in April of 1996.

He bored me, I never saw that much charisma there. Same here. Though I liked Diesel, both face and heel versions WAY better then the WCW version of Kevin Nash. There's no talent involved with acting like a "cool heel". It's the easiest thing in the world to do. The NWO thing was brilliant because of that, but I'm glad heels today, for the most part, actually try to play heels. Being a real heel post-kayfabe takes real talent, and sometimes a little trickry (Randy Orton has people actually believing he's his on screen character). Eh it was the nWo who brought the whole "breaking the fourth wall" element to the forefront of pro wrestling. I really enjoyed that.

To do it at the level Nash did it takes serious talent. Very, very few wrestlers past or present had his mic skills and charisma, which is why he stands the test of time and was one of the most over wrestlers of the 90's. And I think this whole "it takes more skill to be a true heel" stuff is just another worn down cliche. I still recall the I.W.C. licking Edge's balls after he got the Montreal crowd to boo him all because he called them a "bunch of frogs". That's not genius heel tactics, that's generic cheap heat.

I'm facinated at the complete opposite opinions on Nash. I'm not saying I'm "right", but I found the guy incredibly bland. He had no inflection in his voice, he said repetitive things in a monotone, lazy way. He had no ability to cut passionate promos that made a feud or match seem important - his schtick was all just "cool heel" stuff that brings nothing new, that you've heard a million times. He never seem like he gave reindeer droppings - even when he ended Goldberg's streak, the way he delivered the powerbomb at the end - no energy, so sense that he gave a reindeer droppings whether he won or not. I do think he was an underrated wrestler overall - especially in those big WWF matches others mentioned. And I think "generic cheap heat" is an overused term, when used in a negative way. Rob Conway dropped "generic cheap heat" all over the place (most notably that "legends" segment) in Dallas, and nobody gave a shit. Good performers (like Edge, and Foley), can get by on their reputation, getting reactions from "cheap" comments more than bad workers can. If the crowd cares, who gives a shit whether heat is "cheap'?

Diesel was easilly my favorite wrestler of the time. Calm and confident on the mic, and made all the big guy moves look like they are supposed to, devastating. Maybe its cause I ways like 12 at the time, but he'll always be the man to me.

how anyone can say nash had no charisma is beyond me, his charisma is what got him where he was, it certainly wasnt his wrestling ability

That sig still makes me laugh at the whole 'Krystal didn't want a part of the Edge storyline' thing. Hot lil ace though.

That's Krystal? Because it looks like a white chick. She must be fair-skinned and the others are all too tanned.

Diesel was indeed a cool character, certainly a better fit for Kevin Nash than "Oz". I was in the house at MSG for Diesel's squash of the great Bob Backlund. Although we cheered like crazy at the time, I now feel ripped off as that could have been a very good match. And Backlund should have went over, IMO. My guess is that management didn't want Diesel put in any type of leglock, for obvious reasons, and they certainly didn't want him to look weak. The appearance of the fake Diesel and fake Razor was funny as hell, and J.R. sold it well. Having said my piece, here's Heidi Klum. You are welcome.

One of my all time favs. Partly because he was from Detroit, but also because he was just a fun time to watch.
He's the greatest case of how BRILLIANT MATCH TECHNIQUE was not always necessary to entertain. He always had ring psychology down, and while he wasn't the most athletic, he gave his matches a reason to watch.
Not to mention you could absolutely fall in love with his character. I would say he was never a great heel, not even in the nWo, but he is a damn charismatic guy.
