Diesel was one of my favorites. I didn't like him as much when he went WCW, but I've also dug ol Nash.

One thing that really threw me off in this video was Vince calling J.R 'Jim'. I know thats his name but it seems so strange after years of J.R and Ross.

I love Nash, either as Diesel or himself. As himself I like him better though, he just has that slight air of utter hilarity whatever he does.

i was a big Diesel mark back in the day. I was at the show that probably gave McMahon the idea to turn him face, Royal Rumble 94. I remember he eliminated like 7 guys in a row and the fans started chanting for him. BDC was badass

Closest thing to a markout moment for me was when the guy entered the ring, took 2 steps, then fell over all by himself in the middle of the ring, clutching his quad. Bonus hilarity points for DVon, who was staring at Nash to make sure he was OK while someone else kept giving DVon worked kicks to the head.

Diesel wasn't bad for a big guy, but they neutered him into a pure bread all around good guy babyface. I think that's a big reason why people didn't care for him much.
Now...if they would have let Nash stick to what seems to come so naturally to him (being a smart ass laughing with the crowd) as seen in WCW then things might have turned out better.

I still think to this day that Nash could have worked out so much better as a monster heel, instead of being hot-shotted into a generic babyface. The reason I've always felt this way is because as a face he was bigger and stronger than all his challengers and thus he never came across to me as an underdog or even really remotely threatened by his opponents. That doesn't translate well into matches if you never buy the opponent as ever having a shot to beat the guy. A guy that big should be dealing out the pain to the good guys who have to struggle and claw and fight to beat him. He was way too dominating for me to really get into his character. I think that's one of the reasons I pulled for HBK over him at Mania 11. Michaels was the underdog and more relatable, imo. I mean, who roots for the giant bully in movies? I always felt this way about WWF at the time. Diesel had so much potential to have a monster heel run, but Vince turned him into Hulk Hogan with leather pants. But all without any of Hulk's ability to generate sympathy.

I wish they would have kept the belt on Backlund a little longer. I think he was as interesting and inventive a heel character to come around in a long time. And yes 1995 was brutal. Horrible PPV after horrible PPV. Those IYH shows really started overkilling a product that really wasnt fit to perform.

I do wish they'd have let Bob run with it for awhile before having Diesel dethrone him. I agree there. Crazy Backlund was great.

He bored me, I never saw that much charisma there. Same here. Though I liked Diesel, both face and heel versions WAY better then the WCW version of Kevin Nash. There's no talent involved with acting like a "cool heel". It's the easiest thing in the world to do. The NWO thing was brilliant because of that, but I'm glad heels today, for the most part, actually try to play heels. Being a real heel post-kayfabe takes real talent, and sometimes a little trickry (Randy Orton has people actually believing he's his on screen character).
