OHHHHHH DEFINITELY
Lashley sounds like a 10 year old preppy rich white kid
Ahmed is incoherent but he sounds like he's supposed to.... a tough big muscled black dude

hes way better because he had a voice that matched his size, but that background looked like something out of a low budget 80s movie

I believe a combination of injuries and injuring others Good call...It seemed like he was too damn injury prone...plus his last apperance at the Rumble he looked to have gained some weight.

I believe a combination of injuries and injuring others Yeah, it was basically a case where he would get really hurt really badly, or he would wind up hurting others really badly. He wasn't a bad brawling style power wrestler, just very clumsy.

Which is weird, because his earlier days in Texas as Moadib, he was near-phenomenal for a guy with his build. He didn't pick up that reputation til he got to McMahonland.

Some of these guys, Ahmed Johnson included, should fall under what Richard Pryor said about Leon Spinks- to paraphrase:
People say Leon is dumb because he can't talk, he doesn't have to; Leon what do you do?
"I knock muthaf***ers out"
That's all he needs to say.

I must be the only one who actually likes Lashley's promos and not from a 'tee-hee' standpoint.
Ahmed was unintelligible, sure his voice fitted his body and such, but considering how much they gave him the mic, I would have at least been able to understand what homeboy was saying.

I just was always amazed by how Ahmed could fit one to two kneepads over his thighs.
Not gonna lie, as a kid I thought that was a hell of a look for a power wrestler. Some big dude should bring that look back, I think it would catch on. On the indy scene, somebody popular rocking some Ahmed Johnson-style thigh/kneepads could be like what Maeda and Takada did for kickpads in the early '90s.

It is weird that there is an Ahmed Johnson thread as I just watched the Shawn Michaels DVD and saw the match between him and Bulldog where Ahmed and Warrior came out to help him.
I've said it before and I will say it again. Ahmed Johnson was Goldberg before Goldberg. Same look, same style and they both injured Hart brothers. His debut was awesome though: slamming Yokozuna like it was nothing
Ahmed got so fat that he ended up playing Suge Knight in the MC Hammer movie. In fact wasn't one of the problems with Ahmed was that he supported the Bloods gang? I remember they promoted him as having a troubled childhood where he had joined a gang but "left." But I remember him giving out some hand signs.
When I watch OVW I can't help but wonder why Charles Evans doesn't use the Pearl River Plunge

Didn't he wind up as a pimp?

Didn't he wind up as a pimp? No. People got him confused with two other men. One was Anthony Norris, also from Houston, who was busted for it. Tony Norris, Anthony Norris, both from Houston... Then sometime afterwards, former WCW worker Hardbody Harrison (Harrison Norris) got busted for the same thing. Between the two and the similar names, it got misconstrued as being Tony/Ahmed.

Geez, him and Steiner should have teamed up. We could have made a weekly thread out of that much material.
