I was watching it a few days ago and I marked for when they showed the clip for bret hart for the superstar of the decade and the crowd explodes and you can hear a very loud "We want Bret!!!!! chant playing almost through out his whole segment. I'm not even as big a fan as most here but I couldn't help but mark out for that.
Apparently however Mae Young giving birth to a hand was more controversial then Pillman pulling a gun on Austin. It also beat out 3 Minute Warning beating up the lesbians.
Shockingly HHH & Steph won the best kiss award

Didn't have the fans vote on the best match of RAW in history? Believe it went to one of the TLCs too.

IIRC, HHH showed his butt. That kinda ruined the whole show for everyone.

I actually own this on dvd.
It was like has been said, a poorly done awards show. It had some ok moments but nothing to make you need to buy the dvd or anything.
*Someone mentioned that it will be like WWE Homecoming next week and they will go all out.....well at least WWE still tries some of the time!!!*

The final straw for me was seeing the Fink reduced to a 10 second appearance outside announcing what we were watching when a ad break ended. I'm really hoping that they let Finkel announce all the matches on next weeks show. And then put him in the Hall of Fame. Ok, that's enough Finkel love from me.

It was just a lame bait and switch award show. See WWE had been hyping up for weeks that big names like Austin, Foley, and Rock would be at the show. Foley was never even invited and was buried by Vince anyway. Rock appeared "via satellite" (it was a pretaped promo) and the crowd knew it and refused to play along with his antics. As mentioned earlier, it actually led to the awesome Hollywood Rock. And Austin had been hyped up as THE special guest. WWE told us he would definately be there! Of course it was bait and switch, with Austin being somewhat buried. So it basically was extending the hype for his return a month later. The awards were BS too, as everything that won had gotten big or occurred within 3-4 months of the show. For example, I think Trish won Diva of the Decade (when she was just starting to become big) beating out Sunny, Sable, even Chyna. Match of the Decade was the lame TLC4 match that had occurred 2 months before the show aired. I think it beat out matches like Bret/1-2-3 Kid and the Radicalz/DX vs. Too Cool/Cactus Jack/Rock 10 man tag match. Overall it was just a terrible waste of time. FIXED 4 spelling I agree with almost everything that you said. I was so excited to see it, and thought it would be awesome, but what I got was a pretty lame show all around, and the match of the decade award was a ridiculous/bad choice I thought.

It was like being told you would be dining in an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but actually getting cheese and crackers.

I watched it on TV live...it was BEYOND LAME
it seemed like an awards show that was thrown together in about a week.
Trish won diva of the decade beating out Sable, Sunny, Chyna, and Lita
Match of the Decade was TLC 4 which wasnt even that great if you ask me. But that beat out Cactus Jack vs Triple H in a Street Fight and some others that must not of been that great because I cant even remember what else was nominated.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon get shameless TV time.
Foley, Hogan, Austin get buried and arent even there.
Rock gets booed by the New Yorkers.
Beer Truck gets Raw Moment of the Decade
Edge totally looks goofy as the squeaky clean baby face.
There was a nice tribute to deceased wrestlers which was actually very very nice.

If there is one thing the WWE does consistently really well, it's tribute videos. The Eddie Guerrero one was beautiful and the one they did for Moolah a few weeks back was tremendous too. Even if a wrestler was never really a big star it's nice that they even show a picture at the beginning of Raw or something like that. Although if I remember correctly, the montage they showed at the 10th anniversary show was accompanied by "Tell me a Lie" or the other infamous HBK song.

It was during the time when austin walked out on the company so when his music hit when he won superstar of the decade vince walked out to accept the award to a chorus of boos and he said that the reason why stone cold steve austin wasn't there to accpet was because he wasn't invited!
