I just discovered by checking my favorite wrestling related French website that on april 13th 2008, SmackDown! will hold a house show IN MY FREAKING TOWN !! This is a unique opportunity to at last see pro wrestling in an arena so I will definitely buy some tickets ( I believe I' ll invite a couple of friends ). But since the prices of the tickets are different depending on the place of the seats, I' d like to know from people who already went to such shows what are the best seats so I don' t waste money in seats that aren' t so great.
So, to you guys and girls who' ve been to house shows, what are the best seats ?

It really all depends on the size of the venue. Smaller the venue, better the view, regardless of where your seats are.
If you can't get within the first few rows of the floor, I suggest getting whatever the 1st level is above the floor seats. Will give you a good view of the ring, even if all the floor people decide to stand for the whole show, which most of them do.

FRONT ROW!
Seriously, the one house show I went to I had first row tickets and it was the best show I've ever been to (Not including Wrestlemania 23)...
Also, Undertaker was beating on Big Show on top of the Time Keeper's table right in front of us. As I went to go touch them, Undertaker punched my hand (The punch was meant for the Big Show)...
Also, both men are so much bigger than you'd think...

The house show I went to back in 1999 was pretty awesome. I was in the 10th row, and it was still close enough to see every hair on Albert's back and be in awe at just how enormous Big Show was.

Yup, if you're not in the first 3 rows you are better off being elevated. I've been to shows where I sat in the 5th and 7th rows and usually alot of people stand up in front of you and you can't see anything.

My favorite seats to get are the ones in the corners where the entrance meets the ring. You get High Fives on entrances, you are still the front row for everything in the ring, you get all the Entrance Ramp brawls and you get on TV all the time.
Plus, seeing Jeff Hardy do his wall-walk move 8 inches from your face is awesome.
Also, that area is a common place for wrestlers to stall if it's a TV event. That's REALLY fun because the faces always talk to you, and the heels always sit there and try to piss you off.

I have a couple of questions about house shows:
1.) Are there any anymore or is it all TV tapings?
2.) If the answer to #1 is YES, then do they do plot-heavy speaking segments or is it all wrestling?

So, to you guys and girls who' ve been to house shows, what are the best seats ? I was at a house show back in early '00 for WCW and managed to get third row seats over the phone for my bro and I. One was the aisle seat which turned out to be pretty awesome since it was the corner the tag teams were in, so I got to yell a lot at Crowbar/David Flair and then Saturn/Malenko. Due to Crowbar/D. Flair being in the corner, I managed to get Daffney's attention long enough to yell to her I loved her... to which she looked me in the eyes and then screamed. ;D I also managed to sneak by the one security guard long enough to pat Crowbar on the back when he hopped on the guard rail nearby to celebrate. So they were pretty awesome seats. Granted, second or first row would've been a little better, but luckily there were very short people in front of me, since I was only like 5'7" at that time.

front row of course. i had some for a house show where Taker fought Kane and when they were on the outside Taker was having a conversation with everyone. It was suppose to be Austin vs Kane and someone asked him where Austin was and Taker said "he was in the hospital" he then slammed Kanes head into the corner post and then turned and told us that "Austins knee is f***ed up" back to slamming Kane on the floor and Taker tells us "he'll be back in a couple weeks". It was awesome.

It really depends on the venue. If it's in a big arena I would honestly say toward the middle rows of seats because sitting on the floor you always gets some 8 foot tall jackass who insists on standing all night and the little kids have to sit on their parents' shoulders because of the 8 foot tall jackass so nobody sees anything.
As for a small venue like a VFW hall or something pretty much anywhere is a good seat so long as they have them spread out enough to give everyone some elbow room. I'm a big dude myself so this is definately important. I also like to be close to the bar too.

Occasionally you may have storylines get advanced on the shows, but it's very rare.

It's about 99.9% wrestling. They may do some speaking segments, but it's only to set up a match. Last house show I went to, JBL was acting as the GM, because Angle wasn't there. I don't recall what the original main event was, but after some mike work, it became a tag match with Cena and JBL on opposite teams.

Well, thanks for the infos, people. I' m no leaning toward buying rather close to the ring seats but I' m just wondering, isn' t there a risk that the ring be too high if I' m really in the front rows ? Not to mention I' m only 5' 5" tall... Also, if it can help giving you an idea of the size of the arena, here is a map of what it' ll look like : www.willywrestlefest.fr/Ressources/Catch_En_France/Plan_Strasbourg_2008.jpgwww.willywrestlefest.fr/Ressources/Catch_En_France/Ringside_Strasbourg.jpgAlso, the finalized card hasn' t been announced yet, but it is already known that it will feature : Batista Undertaker ( Damn ! ) Rey Mysterio ( Damn ! 2 ) The Great Khali Matt Hardy ( Damn ! 3 ) Mark Henry Finlay ( Damn ! 4 ) Chuck Palumbo MVP ( Damn ! 5 ) Michelle McCool

Despite what they sometimes claim, it's not well over 15 feet from the tops of the ropes to the floor. You should be able to see the ring just fine from the front row.

if your not front row, I'd recommend getting the level just above the floor seats (it's usually level with the ring) or the level right about that section.

Row 3 to the risers are the worst... usually can't see much of anything unless you're really tall.
