Thanks! That's ridiculous--I'm surprised that isn't everywhere yet...I bet when it hits mass media that's what will be pointed out...

This is first smart thing I"ve heard TNA do in long time. They are gonna get exposure from ESPN from this and maybe get a show on ESPN. If they have Pac Man wrestle which he can he's good enough athlete in X Division this might be good thing for TNA. And I hate TNA.

I'm not sure what's confounding me more - that TNA would be this dumb or that people on this board are saying things like "they didnt go wrong with LT or mongo" and " Lawrence Taylor had his demons yet him and Bam Bam had a good program."
Huh? Did you guys actually see that match? I was there. It was horrid beyond horrid. Worst thing I've ever seen live and I saw Dustin Diamond at a donkey show.

You may have found it horrid, but not everyone else did. I don't think they went wrong with Mongo, sure he wasn't a marvel in the ring, but he was the brawn behind the Horsemen, and Flair/Arn always have spoken highly of the guy so it's not like they hated him either. TNA doesn't have the money WWE has or WCW had to where they could do this and not hurt for money. Also, they still have yet to get a second hour, which would be helpful in getting over some of the talent they already have on their roster.

This does nothing but further my belief that TNA is stupid as f*** and should just be put out of it's misery NOW.

I seriously doubt that hes gonna have an in ring role with TNA. He will be used in a story line like the guy from the Saprano's was used with Team 3D. As far as mainstream media, if used correctly it would be a major coup for TNA. However with his track record the odds of him doing somthing stupid while affiliated with TNA are fairly large.

I have tried giving TNA another chance but, if he shows up on TV I am done. This smurfing prick doesn't deserve a damn thing except jail time and he gets a contract in wrestling? He had his hands in the shooting of a man (a former wrestler no less) and he is coming in to TNA in a "non-villain/babyface" roll? What the smurf is TNA's problem?I mean are they really that smurfing stupid? I seriously hope all this money is guaranteed and Pac Man (for as much as I hate the prick) goes to jail before TNA gets the son of b**** on TV, blowing this up in their faces. Why not sign Michael Vick while your at it?
EDIT: With the controversy in wrestling thanks to the whole Benoit situation, the last thing wrestling as a whole needs is more controversy to it.

Eh, I don't see this as anything to get upset about. He'll be involved in some meaningless angle, cash a couple of paychecks, and then head back to the strip club to make it rain. Sure, he's using his bad reputation to his advantage (like Mike Tyson in WWF back in the day) but it's not like he's going to be taking up hours upon hours of tv time. About the only person who should be annoyed by this is NFL commish Roger Goodell.

You can't even draw the Mongo, LT, or Tyson comparisons in any of this. Pacman has done absolutely nothing in the NFL and is only note-worthy because of his frequent run-ins with the law and eventual suspension from the NFL.
LT is a Hall of Fame linebacker who won the MVP of the league on multiple occasions, was a perenial All-Star, had a couple Super Bowl rings and won the Defensive MVP on multiple occasions. McMichael was an All-Star and had a Super Bowl Ring. I don't even need to get into Tyson and his reputation when he was brought in.
Pacman? He has a stupid nickname, a criminal record that has a quite a few chapters, and was widely considered a bust his first year and showing hints of improvement in his second year.
Furthermore, if you think sports fans are going to pay attention and see the spectacle, it'll either not happen at all, or people will turn in for one show and never turn it on again. No one on any sports show today has mentioned TNA, it's just been referred to as a "small Nashville-based wrestling company" and it's being completely ridiculed. One comment on Sirius NFL Radio today was something to the tune of, "Pacman is so pathetic, he can't even get the WWE to pay attention to him, he has to go to some third rate company that no one watches".
In the end, this will do absolutely nothing for TNA but make it the butt end of a joke for a day or two before mainstream sports media gets sick of mocking the company.

msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7073506"Worrick Robinson, an attorney for Jones, said Pacman and TNA are talking about "some kind of role" in the company and told The Tennessean that his client "won't be wrestling" and wouldn't play a villain." Relax.

-TNA is angry that some sports outlets and local news channels have leaked the deal already.
-The deal was Jeff Jarrett's idea and he has full approval of the Titans. Jarrett is well known by those involved in the team since they are all in the same area. They are fine with the deal because it gives Jones something to do during his suspension.
-TNA is slated to make an official announcement tomorrow.

I wonder how they'll spin this as sticking it to "that company up north".

Don't compare Pacman to LT. When you play Tecmo Superbowl, many people will pick the Giants just for LT. When you play Madden does anyone ever pick the Titans? No.
