I'm interested in everyone's feelings on the man with (allegedly) the face of a lizard.
After seeing Danielson beat the unholy f*** out of him, and after having watched Delirious in many an entertaining Four Corner Scramble and Six Man Mayhem, I think the gimmick has kind of run it's course for me.
Don't misunderstand me - the guy is tremendous with facial expressions and bodily mannerisms, not to mention the seemingly never-ending stream of almost-but-not-quite-understandable jibberish that he's always delivering. That said, I can forsee a time when I grow heartily sick of him.
I think his saving grace is that he isn't on television, and thus I only see him a handful of times a month. If he was in WWE with this gimmick and I saw him at least once a week, I probably would have already been skipping his segments.
So, what's your opinion? Should something be done with his character? To be honest, I'm really interested in seeing him get unmasked, because even with the hood on, I can tell he has a great grasp of how to emote through facial expressions (a quality I hold in high regard, which is why I like Austin Aries and Christopher Daniels so much).

Does anyone know what he looks like under the mask?
If he has a face like Randy Orton he has hundreds of ways of getting over and gimmicks.
I really want to see him without a mask.

Punk knows what he looks like. Once upon a time, when a bunch of indy guys were assembled after a show, Punk yelled 'Delirious!' out loud and went 'HAH! I revealed your secret identity!' when Delirious turned around. True story.

It's hard to say cause i still do enjoy Delirious, but i can see how a different gimmick can be very beneficial to him at this point.
I say if he losses the mask hes gotta go a total different way with it. He's gotta be a badass who is intent on taking things 100% serious in an attempt at the title. Wrestling a different style in the ring, a more stiffer focused style, always going for the pin.
At least thats my take on it.

I'd be content with a slightly darker, more broken, less friendly version of Delirious, but I like your idea too. That said, you don't want to sap him of ALL personality, which seems to be his strength rather than his ing ring ability. He's no slouch in that department, but the reason that he got over in the first place is because he has charisma up the wazoo. By the way, I'm taking up a Hume Paladin in FFXI on Ragnarok as we speak. Good to see another fan kicking around the WC boards.

I've been wanting the same thing from Eugene is a way. To get rid of their gimmick and turn on the fans by being articulate. That would be gold.
I would pay to see it happen because it would be HUGE when it happens.

Wow. I'm shocked. I expected the poll to be like almost unanimously against a Delirious gimmick change, and it's the opposite. Shocked, I say!

I'm kinda hoping for what was supposed to be done with Jimmy Rave... have Delirious just be kind of a broken man without the mask with no energy. Then just have him be like a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any minute. And good luck with the PLD, should be easy to get 75 these days with all the the rings/ToAU.

I would have thought that people would be very protective of Delirious and his gimmick, but it seems that as a great man once said, "Enough is enough and it's time for a change."

Honestly, I really don't see him going to one of the big companies as 'Delirious'. I don't believe it's a character that would have a long shelf life on television. Of course, I could be wrong and he could become the most popular guy on the roster by Christmas when he gets picked up by WWE tomorrow. But I just have that feeling.

I actually had a chance to meet 'em unmasked, and he was a really amazing guy...
It was really dumb luck that I even met 'em. He was hangin' out with all the other workers last August at the Ball Park Brawl in Buffalo,NY. I decided to take a chance and ask if it was him, and lo and behold, it was!
I told 'em about the radio show that I do up here and he was nice enough to cut a promo for my radio show, in full out jibberish-mode, and managed to fit in the call letters and name of the show! It was great!
Hope I get to meet up with him again, and hopefully get him to come on if he is somehow involved in the whole Project 161 deal!

No sorry to dissapoint, but he is just a normal lookin' bloke. He was tellin' all the little marks that he was just Daizee Haze's boyfriend and he wasn't Delirous. Thank god for havin' a radio show! If ya' passed 'em on the street, you wouldn't even recognize 'em!

Well, that's disappointing. I was hoping for some scales. Some ridges would have done, even.
