When Paul Heyman and Eric Biscoff did this kind of thing in the 90s, everyone said it was 'brilliant' and 'cutting edge.' Shooting on the competition was cool. Marks of all companies were silly for celebrating it. ECW fans loved shooting on MacMahon, oblivious to the fact that he was funding their "Extreme revolution." WWF fans hated Biscoff for giving away the endings to taped Raw broadcasts, but thought it was awesome for HHH to 'invade' Nitro. And WCW fans hated Jim Cornette's shoots on WCW and loved Biscoff giving away the ending to Raw until it backfired big time with Foley and "asses in seats." Talking about the competition is always stupid. It doesn't matter if you're Paul Heyman, Eric Biscoff, Vince MacMahon or Jeff Jarrett. People said it was brilliant and cutting edge because it was, WCW was big enough to say they are competition to the WWF so they could do things like that. TNA is not big enough to start that and they don't ever really have a good reason for doing it except some ex-worker being upset for being fired.

This accomplishes what exactly? What those Billionaire Ted sketches with the Huckster VS Nacho Man accomplished. I.E. Nothing!

TNA is not big enough to start that and they don't ever really have a good reason for doing it except some ex-worker being upset for being fired. So TNA isn't big enough, but ECW was? Cause they did a bunch of shoots and insider stuff on their broadcasts, and they weren't nearly as big as WWE or WCW.

ECW wasn't exactly trying to beat WWF or WCW. They were doing their own thing. TNA had this idea for a little while, but it's been years since that time.

Here's the big difference between what TNA's doing and what WWE/WCW/ECW did...
When WCW poked fun at Vince and Co. via giving away results, airing shoots against WWE, and such, it had never been seen on a national stage before. People were legitimately surprised by it. And, it's one of the things that helped WCW overtake them.
When WWE poked fun at WCW with DX "invading," it was funny. I don't care what anyone says, I laughed at it. It was lighthearted, just trying to rag of Bishoff and Co. a bit. And it ended before it got old. ("Billionaire Ted" wasn't so successful.)
When ECW poked fun at WCW and WWE, it was also funny. Steve Austin's "Monday Nyquil" segmets were hilarious IMO. And, when Jerry Lawler did a program with them, the whole thing was one big angle, and a damn good angle if you ask me.
In the case of TNA, it's rarely funny, and they just keep doing more. You can argue whether or not it's fair all you like, but the other companies shocked and amused people. TNA just makes people roll their eyes.

The only time TNA's WWE parody sketches were funny was the one after Cookiegate with HHH and Vince trying to get the videotape. That had me rolling with laughter so much

It could be funny, sure I don't deny that. But still wouldn't it be better to use the time alotted for this segment for getting the guys already in TNA over as opposed to beating a dead horse in bashing WWE?

TNA desperately needs to stop yapping at WWE's ankles and try to establish their own identity. It doesn't make them look "edgy," it doesn't make them look cool or subversive. It just makes them look pathetic.

Wow, this is really going to accomplish a lot. Remember the last fifty times they did something like this? What successes!
Seriously, though, smurf Kurt Angle and TNA. Pathetic.

I watched it, and it has NOTHING to do with Batista. At least, I can't find the reference in there. The Vince reference was pretty loose too...
It was alright.
