It's no news that TNA is inconstant, Victory Road and Slammiversary were both good where as Hard Justice bombed like hiroshima. But in the good light of a good Impact this week i can't help but feel anger for Russo and his "Angle Awards", ye we get the message it was supposedly so well done in his little corkscrew mind that he feels the need to thank himself on-screen taking overall about 10 minutes of the show.
PS. On a sidenote, why is Kurt Angle on EVERY single TNA Poster that comes out these days, yeah it's pretty obvious they want it to be Total Nonstop Angle

Does Vince Russo have anything to do with booking Angle other than writing the material handed to him?
I think that's Mantel who has the ego.

Is the Angle awards any different than those JBL celebrations and speeches, Khali dance sessions, or Edge's pyromania filled celebration? Those were fine, since what else does a heel than makes it big do tan try to rub it into everyone's faces?
Plus, Angle hasn't be on every poster. The one for No Surrender had Abyss on it, the Slammi one has Jarrett, Final Resolution has Joe, Sacrifice has Cage & Co, Victory Road has Gail Kim, Against All odds Cage & Tomko, & Destination X Sting & Abyss. That's the ones from this year, from the merchandise page from TNAwrestling.com

yeah it just seems like russo isn't the one doing all the decisions as for who goes over.
if russo were to have done it I strongly think that joe would've been champ atleast 18 times by now.

People please stop defending Russo. You make yourself look bad I'm not defending him, I'm just stating facts. As far as I know Russo is only doing VKM and writing scripts based on input from other committee members. And as thwak said, if Russo WAS booking Joe would have the title by now, and so would Angle, and Jarrett, and Eric Young, and Karen Angle, and Dutch Mantell...

And there's no way the Angle celebration was anyone but him? I'll admit the Karen Angle swerve was Russo. But he's in a committee. He doesn't come up with all of the ideas anymore.

Chill now, i'm not slamming TNA. No those you mentioned are not any different except i sensed a subliminal message in the name "Angle Awards" it's like saying "This angle was so brilliant i have to glamour it for a while and admire my work" and the poster thing wasn't that serious but i'm glad you brought me some examples.

I just don't get how Angle=Russo. I mean, Kurt Angle winning the belts, and doing this big circle jerk of a celebration with family and friends, and it's all about........Russo blowing himself off?

Look i'm not saying it's a fact but when you have a carefully executed storyline like this it's like a serial killer planning a hit and executing it perfectly. Now imagine if Russo(if he had part in this) saw his work come true like it did at Hard Justice, you would think he's proud of his work and therefore wants to ehm reflect it to the show by celebrating everyone involved like a movie or something. This wasn't booked like a simple "heel celebration"

I'm not defending Russo, but people on here think that all crappy booking is Russo booking. The Joe/Angle booking was actually MORE like the type of terrible booking that killed the Memphis territory in the late-1980s. And who was weaned on the booking that killed Memphis in the late-1980s? ANSWER: Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantell. Watch this clip, particularly the match finish with Lawler/Henning/Raven. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNVnlS6W_AEIt's A LOT like TNA. So much that you'd swear it's Russo. Ref bump. Women. Interference. It isn't Russo. It's probably Jerry Jarrett booking, and Dutch and Jeff were sitting backstage going, "Whoa. This is cool!", while people who had gone to watch wrestling in the Mid-South Coliseum every Monday night for years were going "I'm tired of this crap." (because it was the same old screwjobs OVER and OVER), and they stopped coming.

I think the Angle Awards fit well with Angle's new heel personna, egomaniac. It also provided a segue for Angle vs Steiners next week. Unfortunately it did use valuable time that could've been used on a match. This sort of thing will work better once they get a second hour. With one-hour prolonged promos just take too much away from the action.
So while I would've preferred to see the Lethal/Daniels match be longer I don't think the awards were actually bad booking.
