I'm not defending Russo, but people on here think that all crappy booking is Russo booking. The Joe/Angle booking was actually MORE like the type of terrible booking that killed the Memphis territory in the late-1980s. And who was weaned on the booking that killed Memphis in the late-1980s? ANSWER: Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantell. Watch this clip, particularly the match finish with Lawler/Henning/Raven. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNVnlS6W_AEIt's A LOT like TNA. So much that you'd swear it's Russo. Ref bump. Women. Interference. It isn't Russo. It's probably Jerry Jarrett booking, and Dutch and Jeff were sitting backstage going, "Whoa. This is cool!", while people who had gone to watch wrestling in the Mid-South Coliseum every Monday night for years were going "I'm tired of this crap." (because it was the same old screwjobs OVER and OVER), and they stopped coming. Thank you. Everyone thinks bad booking is either Steph or Russo. I have some news. Dusty almost killed the NWA in the early 90s with all of his finishes. Yet now he books ECW and that show in fantastic. So don't judge someone by a small sampling of what they've done. Russo came up with the best stuff WWF had. Yet he also killed WCW (then again, the deck was stacked against him). He isn't such a horrible booker as everyone thinks, but like Dusty and every other booker (including Paulie and Gabe) he has things that stick and things that suck.

russo's creative job is to come up with stuff for the low card. he is the lowest man on the creative totem pole, so if you are going to be complaining about tna creative you might want to know some details amigo.
and as far as ego? mcmahon is the one who throwing himself into the biggest storyline of the company.
if russo has as much power as you imagine him to have, why isn't he writing himself into the biggest storyline? i mean his ego is obviously so huge.

I'm sure his ego was huge, when he was in WCW when he won the World Title on Nitro. Nowadays, I can't say as I've heard that Mantell and others are having a hand in what goes on, but I guess since Russo has put on crap in the past to most people it seems like he would be behind it.

Speaking of Angle on every poster, I found it hilarious that throughout the feud leading into Hard Justice, Joe was wearing a t-shirt with Kurt Angle's face on it.

This is one of the silliest threads i've seen here. "Angle Awards" means Russo's patting himself on the back for such a great angle? Sheesh, where's your tinfoil hat? It's just a heel throwing a party for himself.

This just in: Vince Russo is not behind every crappy angle in TNA. He might be behind some of them, but the idea that it is him, working alone, booking all the horrible angles since he joined is preposterious.
Vince Russo is esentially the 'straw man argument' for TNA. If anyone complains about TNA, they always blame Russo. It doesn't matter who actually wrote it; Russo writes everything. Before Russo came along, everyone blamed Jarrett for the bad booking.

I don't quite see the association of Angle's obligatory heel celebration with Russo's ego, but whatever.
Vince Russo does suck, though.
