Okay, I haven't really watched TNA since around late June, I find it much easier to read the spoilers than to actually watch the full length show. Occasionally I'll get on You Tube or Daily Motion and watch some of the little skits they do or watch some of the TNA Today matches, which seem to be the best in the company right now.
But, I was talking to my friend last night and he was basically updating me on the "current" events of TNA, pretty much stuff I had read about through spoilers and etc., but then he was telling me about the suppose morale of some of the younger TNA stars, nothing of which was surprising, then he started telling me how some of the "higher up" talent was refusing to do programs with some of the youngers guys. In particularly Sting ending his fued with Christopher Daniels abrutly because Daniels was more-over then him. Is there in truth to this, and if so what are the details to this.
When Sting came to TNA that was one of the fueds I was most looking forward to, but it did seem to end before it ever really began.
and yet, once again TNA reminds me of WCW in it's dying days.

It's possible, but Sting's been said to be a pretty nice guy. Sounds pretty jerky of him, if it was true.

I'm probably overanalyzing it, but I just don't think Sting "gets" wrestlers like Christopher Daniels, because it's a different style than what he came up learning, so I'm not sure if he understands the appeal of it. Like, when he started with TNA this last time, he did a conference call and somebody asked who is he looking forward to working with the most and he said Abyss. Who was the only guy he's really put over? Abyss...a total 1990s gimmick.
I've never been a big fan of Sting's, and think his role in TNA is pretty unnecessary, but he has busted his ass of late, and does try higher-risk spots than he ever did in his prime (as if he's trying to fit in). They aren't incredible spots, but I never really remembered him doing stuff like jumping from the top rope to the floor (and have five guys catch him) during his prime. I could be wrong.
He's never had a Hogan reputation as far as I know, but yeah, he totally made Daniels look like a jobber in their match (even if he didn't mean to).

the whole thing really did get aborted quite quickly with Sting winning at the PPV. at least now when people ask what Daniels' gimmick is I can use my great line: "He's a guy that Sting talked to that one time."

Ok, this rfeud in partcular really confused me. Can anyone explain why they started feuding in the first place?
All I know is that Daniels disspeared for about a month, came back with some weird tribal face paint, and ocassionaly had a 'Sting' mask or baseball bat.
What I'm asking, is why did Daniels all of a sudden decide to cost Sting his title shot? Becuase I can't for the life of me figure this out.

You are wrong. Nothing personal, but he hasn't been anywhere near the risk taker he was in his prime. I haven't seen him do one single dive between top and middle ropes in TNA. He used to jump from the top rope to the floor almost every match until like 99. I will agree that Daniels really looked like a jobber losing in a six minute match after a huge buildup. And yeah, Abyss is the only TNA guy Sting has put over but I doubt he'd sabotage Daniel's career. On his DVD he actually singled out Daniels and AJ and admitted they were "doing things we never even dreamed of." That's pretty far from "not getting" their style.

I'd like to know the background info on the feud as well... daniels returned doing run in attacks and beat downs while wearing a sting mask, or using a similar bat etc. for a while. then sting and daniels were shown backstage talking about something a few times. eventually it was revealed that daniels felt sting was sending him messages on what to do. of course sting would give advice telling him to do good things, and daniels would misinterpret it somehow and do something really heelish claiming that was what sting wanted. then he finally attacked sting i believe after sting kept getting angry with him for being evil. from what i recall that is.

I was really disappointed that the Sting/Daniels feud got cut short. It looked really interesting, and I liked seeing a veteran like Sting work with some of the "younger" talent like Daniels and Abyss.
I've never been a big Sting fan either, but I enjoyed his work with Abyss (except for the "come to the light side" underlying story). The two had a great, intense rivalry, and it was fun to see Sting sacrifice a little more in terms of juicing and even being slammed onto tacks.
I hope that the rumor of Sting refusing to work with Daniels isn't true because that would really suck in Hoganesque proportions. Sting always seemed more professional and less political, and I'd like to believe that he is actually that way and wouldn't do anything to sabotage another worker's career.
Too bad the Daniels/Sting feud was cut short. The moment I saw the two cross paths, I thought it could be something good.

Yeah, it was Samoa Joe vs. Sting one on one and Daniels distracted the ref, and handed Sting the bat.
Sting, of course, refused to use the bat on Joe, and attacked Daniels giving Joe the easy victory (which technically means Sting has put over Abyss AND Joe).
Then Daniels attacked Sting, next impact Sting attacked Daniels and there was a huge buildup to their first match on PPV. Which was Sting putting away Daniels in six minutes. [Cough]

So getting choke slammed on broken glass and tacks aren't risk taking? He has come off the top rope onto the floor in TNA and gave Christain a superflex from the top rope. I never remember Sting jumping through the ropes in his prime. He jumped over a couple of times. But not between.

Don't even get me started on the fact that Daniels interfered during Sting vs Joe....a match that had no reason to be taking place on Imapct in the first place...a match that might've spiked some PPV buys for the company, etc etc

I never remember Sting jumping through the ropes in his prime. He jumped over a couple of times. But not between. Then you need to go to wrestling gone wrong and look at the move Sting does that ends Ravishing Rick Rude's career. And no, to those of you who won't bother, it wasn't Sting's fault. He has been nowhere near the risk taker in TNA than he was as a young man. And I don't blame him for that. He's pushing 50, and a heck of a lot better than Hogan or Flair were at 48 years old. Edit: I've rewatched the footage and apparantly I was wrong. Sting goes over the top rope in this footage. I know I've see Sting go through those ropes though. It was during his blond crewcut stage. I don't know where to find any footage of it though, so I've got no proof. Damn. www.wrestlinggonewrong.com/video/sting_rude_career.html
