With the 2 hour Impact pretty much confirmed, can TNA take advantage of it and start putting out a great wrestling show?
We all know that their roster is full of very talented wrestlers but so far they haven't done much with them.
Could this 2 hour show bring a new era to TNA or will TNA continue to flounder and put on mediocre shows?

Oh dear merciful Shiva I hope so. I don't think my mind could take 2-hours of the same sh*t they're putting out now.

It's very possible with the talent they have.
I wish them luck in doing it though.

Word on the street is October, basically when Spike brings out it's revised fall lineup. Anyway, like other's have said, this could either be a major tonic for TNA, or poison. It's all in their hands to determine which path they'll go. On the bright side, they've apparently been telling some lower card wrestlers to get ready for the two hour move, that there will be more time for them, things like that. We'll just have to see. Two months ago, hell, maybe even a month and a half ago, I would've said "this is perfect", but now it's very much in doubt as to whether this will fix things or not.

if the question is can and could they the answer is a resounding YES.
if we flip it and ask will they and would they then it becomes hard to tell. personally i choose to be optimistic. i notice they are using more and more talent in the tag team division right now which to me screams building up the midcard for more tv time. plus with title picture possibly settling down things could get very interesting.
oh yeah and unless we are all being worked jimmy rave appearing. of course i realize some don't see that as a good thing, but i am a rave fan and i look forward to it. i would never throw toilet paper at the crown jewel.

They have ALWAYS had the ability to put on a great wrestling show, length of time or no.
Will they is the question. Either way we'll find out if they really meant it when they said "we have all these great ideas when we get a 2nd hour"

I don't think another hour changes the way they book, they'll probably hire more people to put on TV while leaving the other 30 guys that should be on TV off. Or they'll just give an extra 5-10 minutes to certain stuff, like Robert Roode/Eric Young and the Dudley Boys.

If TNA revisits 2004s creative booking then yes. In fact in tna revists 2006s creative booking then yes.

Possibly, but it's also possible that they may lose some of there talent before then, namely Samoa Joe.
Either way, I'm not holding my breath.

Can TNA do it?
A few months ago....I would have said YES.
Now, not so sure anymore.

I wish TNA would stay an hour, or at least become an hour and a half show. I f'n love TNA, but two hours of wrestling is just too much time in this kayfabed-challenged world we live in today.

They can't even do 3 hour PPV's right so I don't have faith in them. Hopefully they surprise me but I"m not holding my breath.

I'm not having a lot of confidence in them right now. It'll either mean more possibility for goodness or an extra hour of the same crap they've been feeding us the last few months. More time for the Eric Young and Robert Roode feud? w00t

It'll probably just make way for 3 more WWE guys to sign. I'm thinking Scotty 2 Hotty, Gangre and Sylvan.

Despite my sig, I really think two hours will help. A bad three-hour PPV would still be a pretty decent 2-hour free TV show. Also, those old weekly 2-hour PPVs were generally quite good/entertaining, and had more than enough wrestling to account for bad comedy and guys that I didn't particularly care for. With commercials, they'll only have about 90-92 minutes as opposed to roughly 110-115 from the weekly PPV days, but 90 minutes is more than enough time for matches. Plus, their roster is far better than back then, yet they still utilized a lot of guys on those old shows.
The only true two-hour special they had on SpikeTV was excellent IMO, and it was last year when the product was entering decline. That "This is TNA" 2-hour Spike special with the old PPV matches that bombed against RAW didn't really count to me.
If anything, I think two hours could show casual fans that TNA's more "major league", since back and 1996-97 only your truly major league wrestling shows have been two hours long. That kind of perception could help TNA with casual fans that don't pay attention to them. Plus, then fans can really compare TNA's shows to WWE's main shows like RAW and Smackdown, where it's now kind of apples and oranges. By that, I mean...
Apples = TNA cramming everything they can into one hour, and it can get confusing and tedious (at times). Oranges = WWE stretching things out to run two hours, and it can get boring and tedious (at times).
Not trying to flame either show/company, but that's what happens (to me). It's been reported that Impact scripts are 14-17 pages long for one hour of TV, whereas a RAW script is something like 6-10 pages for two hours. Both sides could find a happy medium.
Two hours isn't the Golden Goose that will solve TNA's problems, but I can't see it as a bad thing at all. It's twice the opportunity per week to catch curious eyeballs flipping through channels, win new fans, and turn them into PPV buyers.
