For those who missed the last update: That quoting seems like it is talking about the Briscoes, and is really making me think that it is the MCMG (namely Shelley, who does have a LiveJournal account of his him) that is posting these cryptic messages.

BTW, I regret to inform the WC board that I will not be at the PPV taping.
I know I'm the chicago guy, but I also do not have a car at the moment that I can use to go to the PPV taping.

With talk of society and such, am I the only one to remember a WRESTLING Society??? I know this is random speculation but I know I'd mark if this somehow was connected to WSX. I could see a guy like Sean Waltman being a HUGE heel in RoH. Not only that but several stars from WSX are already affiliated with RoH including Jimmy Jacobs, Lacey, Jack Evans, Matt Cross, and most recently Ruckus.
Again, I know it's a long shot (ie damn near impossible) but I loved WSX and would totally mark for something involving RoH.

The last update totally checks out if you read it to yourself as heel Hogan.
HOLLYWOOD HOGAN: "There's a clear disconnect between us and the fraudulent mimickers (...Mean Gene)".
and...
HOLLYWOOD HOGAN: "Everyone's been asking, 'How deep does the rabbit hole go (...man!)?"
Gabe probably made Hogan edit out all the "Well ya know somethin", "brother", and "dudes" in his blog because they don't want to telegraph it. That's the great thing about ROH booking, Gabe really pays attention to the little things. When you combine this revelation with the fact that the update before this sounds like it was written by Warrior, I think they're right...Project 161 is gonna be big.
WARRIOR: Emblazoned by peasants (snort) Two sons bred for crowns of honor Have staked their claim as kings among the arrogant
Their reign is a sham (snort) Consequently, Righteous mutiny has arisen
A charger of darkness we ride (snort), On our path to not only take their throne But their heads as well (raises his arms to the heavens and shakes his head wildly)
The feud is going to culminate with Briscoes vs. Hogan/Warrior.
Oh, and 161 stands for "161 months". On 9/15/07, it will be 161 months since Hulk Hogan debuted in WCW in 1994, putting it on the map before helping destroy it from within. The Death of ROH is Hogan's new "project". Thus, 161 months later, he begins again...
But this time, Gabe's just booking the angle where Hogan's there to kill off ROH (storyline wise) from the very beginning instead of having him be face for two years, and then running the invasion angle. Although it's a shame that Gabe won't give Hogan at least a small face run from the beginning, because you sacrifice matchups like Hogan/Steen, Hogan/Albright, Hogan/Whitmer, and Hogan/Pearce, but I'm sure whatever is planned for 161 is going to be brilliant enough, it'll probably make up for it. Plus, I think Hogan will just wind up being a face anyway in FIP.

New blog time. Everything in bold was in bold on the blog post itself. Hmmm, interesting. "some of you catching on?" Could it be us? Are there 161 watchers on our board? "the imposters' kingdom we created". Could it be referencing the absent, so-called founding fathers of ROH- Daniels and Low Ki? Nah. Which tag team set the foundations for the ROH tag division though? It could be referencing the Briscoes again with that line, with the Briscoes being the 'imposters'. The blog and the website are the centre of it all. Well, WCF deduced that ages ago. From the sounds of one paragraph it is as though they are wrestlers who are very popular with the fans, but who have been scorned by the business, and fans have been angry over that. So it's somebody/some people who the fans have wanted to have better success in ROH. Perhaps somebody that fans want back, but as far as we know can't return due to the society? The society perhaps meaning legalities- TNA contracts? WWE Contracts? Channel to broadcast? TNA's iMPACT? A WWE show? All this intellectual revolution stuff. Sounds like it's guys whose creativity/ freedom has been held back. I'm taking a bunch of shots in the dark there, just to put ideas out. But from the sounds of that blog then here's some fans who are clsoe to the answer, and it's guys who are currently (as far as we know) incapabale of working for ROH. My Ultra-Optimistic guess? MCMGs, Jacobs, Lacey and Heyman. It fits with the Lincoln theory- a mastermind, 4 conspirators (1 female). The Lincoln conspirators attempted to take out 3 influential faces. Here, it could be Morishima and the Briscoes. Jimmy for the world title, MCMGs for the tag belts? I don't think it'll be that, but if it were it'd be the greatest angle ever.

I think the "catching on" reference is to the general underground mindset that 161 is cultivating.
When I asked that kid at MM2 about the 161 shirt, he said the guy was giving it out to "people he thought he could trust". So they're doing a great job at getting people on the ground level into this.

The Declaration of Independents (DOI) claims to know who 161 is. While I don't necessarily believe it (the tag team mentioned is a real "what the smurf"), I figure it's worth linking to. Keep in mind that this might be a spoiler. www.declarationofindependents.net/doi/pages/roh93pj.html
