Back in the '80s when they were going national, everyone complained that the WWF didn't acknowledge that their wrestlers ever wrestled elsewhere. The biggest one I can remember is Harley Race, who they never referred to as a former world champion during his entire WWF run. It was like they wanted us to think that they pulled all these top notch wrestlers out of their magic hat. There is a case of two extremes here. WWE doesn't really acknowledge the pasts of the wrestlers, and this is seen as taking the fans for idiots and hogging all of the credit for the wrestler, it's a case of "they're nothing without us". TNA is seen as the exact opposite. They are seen as leeching off of the talent of others and preying on what successes the wrestlers have already achieved whilst not in TNA. Whilst they do acknowledge that it isn't because of them that you recognise the wrestler, it's seen as some by some as a case of "he was famous once, pay attention to us please". Basically, TNA need to admit when a wrestler has done well elsewhere, but not drive on that point. They need to look up to the future and point to the future, POTENTIAL successes of the newly signed. As for WWE...well, when are they going to change, eh? Still, it's not just a case of WWE cast-offs...I noticed the fans doing the "embassy" taunts to Jimmy Rave at No Surrender.

I am fine with mentioning it, though I don't mind if they don't.
An extreme case, where they overdid it, is Team 3D. Sure, you were successful elsewhere. Shut up about it. What have you done for us lately?
Same for you, Steiner.

I like TNA, but their booking has been terrible in 2007. This news - that TNA would hire someone who wrestles as poorly as Rikishi instead of promoting the great talent they already have, like AJ Styles and the x-division, REALLY pisses me off.
TNA is digging its own grave. This is WCW-like stupidity.

This is WCW-like stupidity. the entire feeling i got from watching it, was that rikishi is being brought in to further the joe/christian feud. the impression i am being left with after all of this is that rikishi will be only be used for a few matches. of course i could be wrong, but i have a feeling he won't be stealing too much from the talent they already have. this is just the way it LOOKS to be playing out, from my view. we can only hope, but i just thought i would give you a positive way to look at it.

Not a random guy, a Samoan. Fatu was the guy. To me, it's very hard to figure out a wrestler to come in that isn't A) in WWE, B) Retired/Should Have Retired, or C) Have some kind of recognition, or D) The Rock. To me, very, very few people come to mind.

Well, do you want "Hey! The guy used to be known as So-and-So!" or "Hey! I've never seen this guy before in my life, and neither have you!"? It depends on the situation in my opinion. Kurt Angle comes in...you say that's Kurt Angle. Sting comes in...you say that's Sting. (Which by the way happened before Steve Bordon showed up.) Dustin Rhodes comes in...you reference Goldust, but then move on to the fact that he's Dusty Rhodes's son. Test comes in...You call him Andrew Martin and act like he's a hired enforcer. Rikishi comes in...you call Junior Fatu and say he's friends/family with Joe. Why? Because Angle is Angle. Everyone recognizes him and they got him FRESH from WWE. A fresh known name. It helps that it is his real name. Sting is Sting, not whatever character he had when he teamed with Warrior. He's a legend and should be treated as such. Dustin Rhodes has fame as Goldust. His random returns to WWE shows that even casual fans recognize the guy. At the same time, you shouldn't focus on that because he can easily move to another gimmick. Test...why was he hired? Oh sorry. That's not the topic. The topic is that he debuted by rushing in to help Sting and Abyss from a 3-on-2 situation while Mike Tenay screamed about how "Test!" was here. That didn't work for me becuase Test shouldn't just walk in and beatdown Christian, Tomko, and AJ with his sloppy offense. It makes them look bad, especially when the announcers remind us that it is the guy who most fans would remember as "That guy Bobby Lashley dominated all the time." I just think they should have went: "Is this the surprise that Sting and Abyss said they had?" "He's huge!" "He's got AJ and he's throwing him like a child!" "Sting found a great equilizer in this man!" "Someone get JB ready in the back, we have to know who this is!" Then we get "The Punisher" Andrew Martin who references his past with Christian, but not anything about the "company up north." Now, Rikishi? Junior Fatu? I figure that some people still remember him...but what do they remember? Stinkfaces. Why not start him fresh as a talented big man who doesn't have an obsession with shoving his butt in people's faces? Instead of saying that Cornette found him, they could have easily said that Joe "handpicked" him to face Christian. That would give Junior a little cred since Joe apparently has trust in him to handle Christian. That's just me, though. Do you understand where I'm coming from? Sometimes it may be necessary to say "That guy formerly known as..." but it had better be a BIG daggone name in my opinion. And even that is picky, because if they're big enough chances are that the crowd knows who they are.

God, I hope not. That is so old. I hope not either, but once I heard him say that he's going to be the "Special Enforcer", I can see a swerve in the works where it looks like he's trying to retain order in the match and then attacks Joe and cuts a promo saying how "they fooled us all" or something.

Joe will become the A Friendless Sting. Random people will attack and turn on him.
*Joe walks down the hallway*
Senshi: Good luck, Joe.
Joe: Shut up.
*Joe gets jumped by Shark Boy*
Tenay: Oh god! Shark Boy jumped Joe! WHATASWERVETHATWENEVERSAWCOMING!

I just think Morgan is gonna be the Tito Ortiz to Cage & Joe's AJ & Jarrett. With Cage mouthing off to Morgan, I can see Morgan hitting Cage with a boot or something while Joe takes advantage with a Muscle Buster or something.

I don't like to sound like a bitter person at times, but WWE really dropped the ball with Matt Morgan, dude could've gotten over with that F5 and that Suplex/Rockbottom combo.

To be fair, he got better after he left, like Tomko did. Japan is good for big men.

I don't see a Morgan heel turn right now. In my eyes, Morgan is being built up as a stern face, basically a face, but won't hold back on standing up to other faces as well(see him holding back Joe at No Surrender).
That, and from my eyes, Cornette is being developed as a tweener-like authority figure, but he is like 60% face and 40% heel, because lately, the people getting "punished" by Cornette are the heels.
I mean, the faces are basically being automatically given anything they want. Lest we forget the whole situation of Cornette giving Daniels' #1 contendership to the X-title, which he EARNED mind you, to Jay Lethal just because Lethal beat him in a match. Last time I checked, TNA didn't change contendships if the contender lost a match to a non-contender. Granted, it put the belt back on Lethal, but seeing Lethal lose to Daniels' on iMPACT! last night makes me think Daniels should have the belt now, considering that loss killed most of the momentum Lethal gained from beating Angle cleanly. It is a similar effect of WWE jobbing Rey Mysterio out after he won the Heavyweight title.
