....thus ending the myth that Sting can't wrestle. Who ever started that myth needs to get locked into the Scorpion Death lock until he "Snap, Crackle, POPS".

My only real beef with him is that he really needs to lock that on a little faster nowadays, instead of pointing to the ceiling for a minute and a half.

Mongo was horrible here. Heenan and Bischoff were both trying to put over Malenko and then Mongo goes and buries him just because he's smaller than Sting. Here's the following week's Sting vs. Hogan match that I see you also posted: www.dailymotion.com/Stinger1981/video/x2wfp0_hulk-hogan-vs-sting_sportI remember looking forward to that match so much because it was the first one on one meeting with my two favorite wrestlers. Hogan did a great job playing the heel in this match, especially considering he hadn't played a heel in close to 15 years. He had the crowd totally behind Sting and booing himself except for the Hulk up routine. Just imagine if they would have went ahead with Hogan's heel turn at this point instead of 7 months later. The nWo as we knew it may have never existed.

What was the story behind Hogan's new look and tweener behaviour? I think he just got tired of being booed by half the crowd as a babyface (like Cena sometimes now), and was smart enough to see the light that the business was changing/evolving. Funny enough, the new look of tweener-face Hogan ended that night he burned The Observer on WCW in 1995, an angle that nobody but Dave and 7,000 other people even got.

Come someone explain the back story that set up this match? Sting/Hogan or Sting/Malenko? If you mean Sting/Malenko, it was just a match to see how Malenko would fare against top WCW talent. Sting/Hogan came about when Hogan in his Darkside phase called Sting, Luger and Savage 3 "little dogs" and if Sting wanted to do something about it to meet him in the ring.

If I recall, it had something to do with Sting still aligning himself with Luger, even though Luger attacked Hogan a few weeks earlier at Halloween Havoc.

It did, but Sting took exception to the remarks Hogan made towards all 3 as he was suspect of Sting.
