I only need to defend TNA's mishandling of Raven if I agree that TNA mishandled Raven. I don't.
None of this defends WWE's mishandling of Raven.

It's like this, any comanpy that books Jeff Jarrett as a bigger star than Raven is mishandling Raven. WWE may not have done much with Raven, but they never did that.

Plus, oh yeah, TNA made Raven their freaking world champion!
WCW didn't even do that.
Some people have a hard time admitting when TNA does anything better than WWE, even when it's painfully obvious.

Oy vey... Making someone a world champ doesn't mean you used them right. WWE made RVD World Champ for a little while; ECW never did. And yet I think most people would agree that ECW booked RVD ten times better. Raven might've been world champ, but now that they have a tv deal, you never hear TNA acknowledge it. I never have. For the most part, aside from the occasional DVD, TNA virtually ignores everything pre-Spike TV. As far as today's viewers are concerned, Raven is nothing more than that weird guy in a white suit that canes his lackeys now and then. And I'm not wrong. It's my opinion. If you think that sort of thing is good booking, so be it. I just disagree.

Hell, Jarrett didn't even beat Raven for the title on TNA television.

Oh, the hell with it.
Fine. I'll concede that TNA used Raven better than WWE. At least, they did pre-Spike TV. I still don't see how their current use of him is any better, though.

If you actually watched Raven's journey to the NWA Title in TNA throughout it's entire lifespan, it worked VERY well in getting him over...just before the Spike TV deal, when Raven was champion, he was one of the most over guys in the company...and believe it or not, TNA didn't start when they got a TV deal...some of us actually watched as much as we could and enjoyed it...
Raven's Best Of DVD was outstanding in showing the build up match wise to his title win...his destiny...it was booked very well and yes, even though he hasn't done much since (he was sick) he has still been used well in TNA up to this point...and hopefully they push him more (he seemed to be getting one that way, by his 2 hour premier promo)

Raven might've been world champ, but now that they have a tv deal, you never hear TNA acknowledge it. I never have. Seriously? Every single time TNA puts together a montage of their most memorable moments, they show Raven holding up the belt. The most recent time was last week for the first two hour show. But I forgot, you don't watch. If you did, you would have seen that "Serotonin" Bird Mask Raven is no more. Now that he's healthy enough to wrestle a regular scheduale again he's getting a push again.

Its from when he stole it from Jarrett.

I know that, but then they usually show him at the King of the Ring, when the deep voiced narrator starts going on about "destiny."
They show Raven winning the title during every King of the Mountain, Slammiversary or retrospective video package.

I was really into TNA around this time last year. In fact, I tuned in every week. Never missed a show. And everything went to hell after the PPV. You like to point out how WWE drives fans away with their poor shows, bad wrestlers, and crappy booking. But that's exactly what drove me away from TNA. They were, in fact, worse that the company they claimed to be so much better than. As for Raven, I didn't know he was sick. I'm pretty knowledgable about what's going on in the world of wrestling, but I don't know everything. And whatever ailment Raven was suffering passed me knowledge. But I've made a decision not to watch TNA until Pacman is gone. Maybe after that happens, I'll tune back in and be impressed with Raven's current status.

Raven has some sort of Glandular disorder. It makes him sweat a lot and that's why he packed on the pounds.

I was really into TNA around this time last year. In fact, I tuned in every week. Never missed a show. And everything went to hell after the PPV. I agree. Twice this year (after Destination X and Hard Justice) I seriously debated quitting TNA. Seeing the awesome house show in Syracuse on Sep 3rd made me decide to stick around and see what they could do with two hours. And yes, I hate Pacman. And I totally understand a person stopping watching TNA because he showeup. But you didn't stop watching because of Pacman. You weren't watching, you said it yourself. You like to point out how WWE drives fans away with their poor shows, bad wrestlers, and crappy booking. But that's exactly what drove me away from TNA. They were, in fact, worse that the company they claimed to be so much better than. I disagree vehemently. I shook my head after the last impact ended with Kurt Angle manhandling Sting's teenage son, but then I went online and read James Guttman point out "At least WWE would have closed out Raw by having the kid's car blow up or Kurt throwing him off a bridge."And he's right. As bad as TNA is, WWE is always that much worse. Pacman a world TAG TEAM champion? Vince a World Champion. Frank Wychek pinning James Storm in a tag match? Kevin Federline pinning the world champion. If Jim Cornette ever 'dies' in an exploding limos or Judas Messias starts dressing like a Lepracaun -- then I'll believe the two companies are equal. TNA has sunk below ROH in quality, but if it ever gets close to where WWE is, I'm done supporting the company.
