Last Week's rating was .95.
This Week's rating is .98.
Both weeks, it's rounded up to a 1.0.
Technically, the ratings went up .03.

1.3 million viewers, just like last week, and the week before and the 52 weeks proceeding that. TNA has some loyal fans, me being one of them, but I sure wish they could pick up a few more.

And therein lies the issue. It's wonderful that they're keeping the viewership (give or take a few thoursand, which is standard fluctuation), but at some point, you have to think Spike and Panda Energy (not to mention TNA itself) has to start shooting for some growth.

TNA tries too hard to bring in new fans, meanwhile they have a pretty large loyal fanbase. They try too hard to impress non-fans that they more often than not piss off their loyal fans because of those decisions. I wish they'd concentrate more on entertaining their million or so loyal fans, make TNA the "cool little wrestling fed" compared to WWE (kinda like what ECW did in the mid-to-late 90's to compete with the WWF & WCW), then use that allure to get non-fans to go "Hey, I've been hearing some great stuff about TNA, I think I'll check out Impact tonight to see what I've been missing". That, and not hiring WWE rejects or clinging desperately to former WWF/WWE/ECW/WCW namesake, is what I truly believe TNA needs to do to succeed in the long run.

What they also need to do is stop making BS excuses. Like the "we have all these great plans that we can only implement with (TV show/Primetime/2 hours)", and then they maybe implement 10-20% of that while still maintaining the status quo. Yes, iMPACT has become better with 2 hours, but not by great leaps and bounds.

Spike are said to be happy that they've kept the audience, so there's no need to hit the panic button yet.
I actually think brining in all these new women is TNA's way of trying to attract new views. They've already got more than enough as it is. And I'm willing to bet they've already called Kristal Marshall.

In order to increase ratings, TNA would have to appeal more to the "Nielson families," which would probably kill the good thing they have going now.
