Every time these two fought each other, it was magic.
They're match at the first One Night Stand is one of my favorite matches of all time.
Each "old" ECW match they had was amazing. They really gave each other a beating and worked extremely well together.
Just felt like appreciating.

One of the best fueds ever, not just in ECW but in any company. Makes me miss Mike Awesome That match at ONS 06 was a thing of beauty. I remember even JBL was marking out on the balcony.

A feud that trascended (at least) 3 companies (FMW, ECW and, for one night, WWE ressurrected ECW (dunno if Awesome ever was in ZERO-ONE with Tanaka, or if Tanaka ever meet Awesome in MLW)), two continents, two countries, dozens of matches and ended in, perhaps, the best of all of them at the first One Night Stand. Maybe the most hardcore of the hardcore feuds. It didn't need promos. It didnt need skits. Just matches. Great matches. It made them stars.
Tanaka could have dedicated his AWA title victory to Awesome. That would be one of the best things in wreslting ever.

My favourite was always the Tanaka/Awesome match from ECW on TNN from 1999, where Tanaka won the belt. Not only was the outcome excellent, but the match was great on its own.
Tanaka winning with the Roaring Elbow despite his injured arm was a great finish.

If Mike Awesome had passed away the day after ONS1, Joey Styles would admittedly go insane, but Awesome's legacy would be complete. If we remember him for nothing else (and I think there's plenty of good things to remember him for) then we should remember him for his matches with Tanaka.

Those two were incredible together. Their match at ONS1: The Saga Begins may not have been match of the night, but it was damn sure the biggest pleasant surprise.

A fued can't have a better outcome then Awesome vs. Tanaka, it made both men world-wide stars.

If more tables were ever broken in a singles feud, I'd be shocked.

Awesome/Tanaka was the hardcore equivalent of Flair/Steamboat. Their November To Remember 1999 match is my personal favorite, then their Heatwave '98 match.

EVERY Awesome/Tanaka battle was great. Whether it was singles, tag or otherwise. I personally love their 3 Way Dance with Taz at Anarchy Rulz 99, the story of the 2 of them working together to take out Taz, then battling again with a new champion sure to be crowned, was excellent. My favourite was always the Tanaka/Awesome match from ECW on TNN from 1999, where Tanaka won the belt. Not only was the outcome excellent, but the match was great on its own. Tanaka winning with the Roaring Elbow despite his injured arm was a great finish. Was that the one where Awesome hit that sick looking sitdown powerbomb off the apron through a table, then Awesome-Bombed Tanaka out of the ring post-match? I remember that spot, Tanaka as good as missed the table and looked to just slam into the concrete. Brutal.

I blame the fall of WCW on them not hiring Tanaka and making them fued over the world title until present day.
