The more I watch NJPW the more I see Tanahashi, some people may know I'm not too big of a fan of his, but one thing can't be denied.. this guy is in the wrong promotion. Everything about him screams WWE, he's ridiculously good looking(hey I'm just saying), is big for an asian dude, works safe style as his normal style so he wouldn't have to switch his style over at all, and he's a 2-time world champion(WWE wouldn't acknowledge it unless they pushed him as a face or something) and got Brock's title(anything to rub it in Brock's face). I know he wouldn't get stuck with a stereotype asian because he really doesn't have the look to fit that. Then we can get who I really want, Nakamure, for him to team with. Also NJPW does have some sort of deal with WWE, they run their ads throughout the NJPW program.

I can just see him strutting out on ECW to the old Orient Express theme tune to job out to Miz in four minutes.

But the "work your way up from jobber to main card wrestler" method doesn't really exist anymore, since jobber squashes are largely a thing of the past.

How come WWE hasn't signed Spiderman, is the real question.

He doesn't want to go?
WWE has a horrible track record with hand-picked Japanese stars?
He's making good money now?
He wants to be a Ninja Warrior?

same reason they didn't get Nakamura, NJPW not wanting to give up their biggest star.
Yes he is a sexy man, and that would translate well to the ladies and gay dudes.
He's sort of like Ricky Steamboat in the ring, and that's a good thing.

Not to mention why would you imagine that Tanahashi would want to go to the WWE, sure they're biggest in the world. But he's on top of the number 1 Japanese promotion (financially speaking, everyone knows NOAH is the real numero uno), and probably doesn't want to uproot himself and start off in a new country from the bottom up.

NOAH is nowhere near number 1 in terms of best matches or in crowd drawing.
but don't want to get into that again.
ask the typical smark what the number one promotion is it's DRagon Gate or NOAH because of their involvement with ROH...

As a huge fan of ROH (arguably my all-time favorite wrestling promotion), I can unequviocably say that though there is a place in my heart for both NOAH and Dragon Gate, New Japan is undoubtedly Japan's number one promotion all-around. Zero1 is the best booked (and it's a miracle they're still alive) and NOAH has the best main event matches from an inside the ring standpoint, though their booking is suspect.
