Wow, looks pretty cool, I hope it's 2 discs.
(If it was 2 discs, a cool bonus would've been the whole first weekly PPV)

Lame that Daniels has to be in his dumb ol' make-up effect during his interview portion. Still seems decent, though.

I'm getting this DVD just for the documentary. Good thing, cause the posted match listing is disappointing. Only about 4 matches? Jeez...

I'm getting this DVD just for the documentary. Good thing, cause the posted match listing is disappointing. Only about 4 matches? Jeez... To be fair, it's only one disc and the doc is two hours, so doesn't leave room for a whole lot more since those matches are given a good amount of time. Here's some extra info from Bill Banks' new column on TNA's site: Up next is the anticipated “History Of TNA: Year 1” DVD, which goes on sale at major retailers on November 20. I've read some comments from fans online saying they doubt we will discuss any controversial subjects from the first year on the DVD and that it will just be a "fluff" piece. Well, I'm here to say that we do cover the tough topics and it's anything but "fluff". I think a lot of people will be shocked just how in-depth we do go. The DVD includes full matches from the first year, a two-hour documentary, plus some really cool bonus footage including video of Chris Harris and James Storm's tryout match, the first-ever TNA commercial that aired locally in Nashville, a tribute to Curt Henning and much more.

TNA really cranks out those DVD's.
I never watched anything from the first year of TNA, so I'm rather interested in this.

Any chance they'll include some of the segments RD covered?

Sounds like a cool disc, but I'd much rather get the DVDs and get some wrestling from TNA that just pic up the docs and get the same 4 matches on a dvd over and over again.

Off-topic, but I think this news article from Bank's column is more exciting:
- TNA Wrestling plans to sign Consequences Creed to a contract. Creed competed alongside Ron “The Truth” Killings at “Bound For Glory” against AJ Styles and Tomko. In his first TNA match - at TNA’s biggest Pay-Per-View event ever – Creed certainly stepped up to the plate and impressed. Talk about pressure! Congratulations to Creed and welcome to TNA. Personally, I’m hoping The Truth and Consequences Creed continue their tag team, as I think they can make a very entertaining and dominant combination.

I'm going to be picking this one up for sure. I didn't really get into TNA until Raven showed up so it'll be good to check out the really early history.

I'm still iffy on this DVD. With something like this, you'd expect it to be 2 disk. One for the documentary and angles. The other for early matches. So unless I hear about more matches or that it blows you face off due to sweetness, I'm not fully into it.

I think the idea here is they'll release one for each year, so the match count will build up once you have say Volumes 1-4.

I probably won't get this DVD. I felt that TNA sucked during their first 2 years, with the exception of the X Division. And I already own the AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels DVDs, which have all of the best matches from that time.
