I know it's a full month away, but the sooner I can start my next hype thread, the better, and this one looks like it might be a doozy, as Chikara hits The Riverside Thunderdome in Reading, Pennsylvania with "Bruised". Only three matches have been announced, but boy are they doozies:
First off, Team F.I.S.T makes their fourth defense of their Campeonatos De Parejas, this time against the ever entertaining team of Delirious and Hallowicked, Incoherence. They've taken down ShaneSaw, they've taken down Up In Smoke, they've taken down Los Ice Creams, for Pete's sake! But can the super serious F.I.S.T take on the unorthodox challenge of their old rival Hallowicked and the ever wacky Delirious in the traditional 2 out of 3 falls match?
Next up, Chuck Taylor made an open challenge, and although this pic doesn't reflect it, it will soon, as the challenge has been answered by one of Chikara's biggest names, fellow(former?) KOW, "The Most Money Making Man" Claudio Castagnoli. This is a battle between one of Chikara's oldest and most established stars, and a rookie on a bullet train to the top. Unfortunately, the Young Lions Cup will not be on the line, as Claudio is long ineligible for the trophy.
And finally, possibly the most emotionally heated match of the night. Several months ago, Eddie Kingston DESTROYED the young rookie Tim Donst, enraged over not getting a match with Hallowicked. King's excuse? "Wrong place, wrong time for Tim Donst". Well, that apparently wasn't good enough for the entrepid rookie, as he's now out for revenge. With several excellent showings under his belt recently, including a very good match with Quack himself this past weekend, the rookie might be ready to tackle one of the guys at the top of the class.
New match out of the blue being billed as the first ever confrontation between two masked men. Chikara mainstay Jigsaw takes on Japanese rookie Dragon Yuki. Jigsaw's shown some frustration with his partner Shane Storm of late, will those latent rudo tendencies show through in this match?
New match added, and this one is a continuation of Mitch Ryder's war on the luchadors of Chikara, as he takes on the young Equinox. Equinox has been with Chikara for a while, but can his experience counter that of his veteran journeyman rival?
New match added, and boy, apparently Quack's not letting his recent injury slow him down at all, as he's slated to defend his NWA Jr. Heavyweight title against protege Lince Dorado at this show. Will the youngster be able to wrest the prestigious title off of his trainer? Or will the veteran triumph?
New match announced, and it's a tag team match to decide another tag team point. It's the Osirian Portal vs. Up In Smoke, both with 1 point each in the tag team standings. Whoever wins gets a second point, and is one step closer to a title shot, and whoever loses goes back down to zero and must start from square one.
Just look at the picture and read my description of the match on pg 5. DRAGON DRAGON, USAPE, AND MOSCOW TAKE ON THE NEO SOLAR TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!
The final match has been announced, and it's another Trios match, this time pitting the Colony of Fire, Soldier, and Worker Ant against the wacky duo of Jimmy "Jam" Olsen and Colin Olsen, The Olsen Twins, and their large companion, "Big Rig" Brodie Lee. Will the insects conquer, or will the Ants eat a Brodie Lee big boot to the face?
Stay tuned as more matches are added to this thread and for the "New Star Navigation" thread coming soon.
