DEPARTURE FROM TNA by Mike Johnson @ 1:49:33 PM on 10/30/2007
Junior Fatu is indeed gone from TNA, I believe over money issues in that he wanted more than the company wanted to pay. Fatu got a big reaction from the crowd and his in-ring work was decent, but I don't see this as any major loss for the company.

Well, that's what Rikishi of all people gets for holding the company up for more money.

Dang. I would've really liked to see him elevated to win his first world championship.

The other day I was watching TNA with 2 non wrestling fans, and they marked huge for fatu, to the point where they've been threating to give each other stink faces in their sleep

Well, no big loss. The wannabe Rock/poop gimmick he was selling, I wasn't buying.

So he was a temporary hire after all! ALL GLORY TO TNA! How anybody could pick him up and do their finisher on him is one of the great mysteries of the universe that shall never be answered.

The sad thing is....I understand him asking for more money.
He debuted in a Main Event feud. He was in 3 out of the first 4 Main Events for TNA's 2-hour show.
He was pushed as "the favorite" for the "Figh for the Right" Tournament.
If TNA was going to treat him like a Main eventer, he probably assumed that they could pay him a little better. I doubt he wanted Sting money, just payment for his spot on the card.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't really enjoy his stay with TNA and am glad that I won't have to hear Don West hype the Stinkface anymore, but I can understand why he'd want more money.

Agreed, this has to be the 1st time TNA has fired a former WWE guy for having too big an ego. He could have had a perfectly good midcard spot and get paid better than most TNA folks surely will, but he got greedy and threw it away. Lesson for job hunters: Don't ask for a raise 4 weeks into your new job.

Now that Fatu is gone (YES!!!), let's hope we see VKM, Rhodes, Russo (yeah, right!) and Nash follow.
(I know a lot of you will protest getting rid of Nash, but he doesn't do anything but stand around and/or be a part of worthless, wasteful backstage skits.)

If they diss TNA and try to get their old WWE jobs back (which they won't), yes. Nash? Unlikely. Russo? When hell freezes over.

Nah, I mean 'worthless and wasteful', as in 'I'd rather watch Styles, Daniels, Storm, Harris, the MCMG, etc., WRESTLE rather than see Nash waste my time with senseless skits while he likely earns more than the guys who are out there busting their butts, yet are not getting any tv time'. But that's just my opinion.

That's what TNA gets for pushing a non-contracted performer on television.
