It is very difficult to start from the first show and catch up with the current product. With most of the indy feds I buy I start on a year with the most pimped shows. With ROh i started with 2006, with CZW I started with 2005. NOw I plan on buying some chikara and I have no plans to start at the begining. There alot of Chikara fans so I was wondering. What is the best point to start at?

I think 2006 was their best so far.

Well, success-wise, 2007 has been Chikara's year. They set a personal attendance record at Maximum Overdraft...and then they shattered it at Cibernetico and Robin. I have a feeling that Chapter 11 might actually out-do that.

Hmm I'll play Devil's Advocate. How does the talent and matches from 06 stack up against 07? What were the highlights, and who were the mvps?

The MVPs of 06 were Larry Sweeney, Eddie Kingston, and the Kings of Wrestling, in my opinion. 07, well, we still have three shows to go, but the high point has to be either Maximum Overdraft or Cibernetico and Robin, and I'd say the MVP of 07 has to be, HAS to be Claudio Castagnoli, who has been amazing since coming back in February.

King of Trios was an AMAZING series of shows, and I haven't seen the Young Lions Cup yet, so I don't know how it stacks up.

Are there any 07 shows that feature a lot of Hallowicked ;D Well, he's on most of the show's from April onward taking on Eddie Kingston in some capacity. You kinda have to nose around to find the shows that don't have him, like the first two nights of YLC or the International Invaders Weekend shows, where he doesn't make an appearance.

There'll be plenty of Hallowicked in the future as well now, since he's half of the tag champions and is booked for the next 3 shows. He was at Cibernetico and Robin in September, and Bruised, and New Star Navigation in October too.
If you don't get Rey de Voladores from this year, you will be missing out immensely. I personally prefer this show to even Maximum Overdraft, it is just quality from top to bottom. There's a mini tournament with 2 great 4-ways and a great final, some solid lowercard action in Sweeney/Storm, Order/Donst & Team AnDrew and BLKOUT/Colony, a decent angle/brawl between Hallowicked and Kingston, one of the best matches I'e ever seen between Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli, featuring some very innovative action, and a quality Campeonatos de Parejas match between Fist and Up in Smoke featuring Cloudy vomiting.
I cannot say enough good things about Rey de Voladores. Out of my first 3 Chikara DVDs, it was the first I watched, and is an excellent introductory show.
