alright so i first started watching wrestling around the time of 97...i was only 7 years old at the time, in fact i was 6 during the Hart-Austin WM match. Now that match was the first time I seen wrestlers take thier fight into the crowd. Is this the first time thats happened or has thier been previous times when matches ended up in the crowd? if so when was the first time it happened?

I'm fairly certain ECW was doing it long before that particular match in 1997.

Probably did, not really saying that it started in ECW, but that was the only promotion that I could recall that actually did stuff like that at the time. And a year before the Austin/Hart match, Benoit and Sullivan were having frequent matches that went into the crowd and the men's room.

If i was a betting man, I would say the original sheik or abdullah the butcher were the first to have matches in the crowd.

I forget about it all the time when I think of favorite matches. Just seemed so new to me at the time. It made WCW seem more real in a way than the WWF... which is why as a young kid, I always believed WWE was fake and WCW and ECW were real.

abdullah and brody went into the crowd all the time. also I wonder what you mean by a match going into the crowd. if it's just a wrestler going into the crowd watch this www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsDXeVevT2ssee they both went into the crowd and that was in 1957.
