I still remember a promo where Lethal (as Savage) yelled at Val "Cover up! Get in the dressing room!"
If they go all out and pull a Savage/Elizabeth relationship, I'm all for it.

They need someone to portray Hogan. Like Sonjay. Just so you can have the feud over Mitz Elizabit.

It's a great gimmick, but yeah, even if it does get stale, TNA won't realize it until about a year later Great? I don't know... He's just copying Savage. I don't see what's so great about that. It just seems like he's leeching off of Randy's popularity. Maybe I missed something but I'm already finding this stale and I don't watch TNA anymore. It's a comedy gimmick. And people are laughing.

Anytime TNA makes me laugh in a non-mocking fashion is a good thing. This is one of the best things they've done in years, IMO.

And it's not a one-note joke either, since you get to do a lot with a Savage parody. When one aspect goes stale, you can incorporate another period of his career.
Or does Savage parody fall under TNA utilizing "washed-up" WWF stars?

angle's excitement over lethals story about the fifth elbow drop sold the whole segment.
and jay isnt just copying macho, its an insane kinda gimmick, he thinks he is randy savage. if he didnt have the flashbacks all the time it wouldnt work, but they take something with a high crap potential and are making it work.
but to each his own, i suppose.

If he wears the Macho King attire, I'd care about it again. Till then, no dice.

Warrior is one old guy TNA needs. When the gimmick runs it's course, Warrior can beat Machismo in a retirement match and Sherri (presumably Kong) will turn against him. And if TNA really knows history, Warrior will be gone by the next PPV over money reasons.

If he wears the Macho King attire, I'd care about it again. Till then, no dice. They should bring back the Super X Cup. Then he could win it and do 'King Machismo'. I'm also waiting for him to sing "Come on and slam! And welcome to the jam! Come on and slam! If you wanna jam!"

Maybe I missed something but I'm already finding this stale and I don't watch TNA anymore. First of all, it's probably the funniest thing in wrestling right now. There was plenty of weeks spent setting up the situation, which brings me to..., if you've stop watching TNA, then leave/stay out of threads talking about it. You're just wasting alot of people's time. I'm not saying you don't have a right to voice your opinion. But seriously, you ruined your own post by saying that you don't watch. IF you watched TNA weekly, then I'll listen to your complaints.

I was playing Halo 3 earlier and started quoting Machismo. I think I won because of it. Someone killed me and I started yelling about Jake the Snake.

I'm still waiting for when he tells us to snap it into a slim jim. At Super Indy VI, he tried to get on Larry Sweeney's good side by offering him some Slim Jims. The look on Sweeney's face was priceless.

I didn't think it was worth more than a one time joke. And I have watched it from time to time. But honestly, I'm embarassed when I watch TNA. There's a lot of great stuff there but the pros do not outweigh the cons for me. I still follow it through spoilers and what not but it appears what I have gripes on have not changed. Still getting back to Jay, sure it's alright. But where does he go from here? And what's more... The gimmick is confusing... He started the gimmick in a bit of a talent competition as well as getting help from Dr. Kevin Nash on personality. So he was unveiled as a Savage Impersonator. Sure. Fine, it gets him some much needed mike work. But now... What is the gimmick? Does he believe he's really Randy Savage? Is he still trying to impress Nash? Is he trying to entertain people? Is he an obsessed Macho Man fan? Or is he just trying to get over with the fans because of it? The gimmick, nor the build up, doesn't really explain it. And THAT'S why I have a problem with it. Sure, it's good. But the character is flat. Tell me WHY he's still Savage. WHY he's acting this way. Otherwise, it's just a gimmick that's no better than the pre-attitude WWF gimmicks.

If he starts wearing Macho Man attire circa 1992, I'd mark big time! Full body suit action with tassles everywhere.
