Why does he lose his mind? Is it because he's under pressure to constantly be Savage?
Is it because Savage is favored over his own "real" self?
That doesn't explain anything that I don't already know.

That doesn't explain anything that I don't already know. it is more an ambiguous angle. to tell you the truth i have no idea how helms became the hurricane but i enjoyed that as well. in wrestling sometimes they gloss over key explanation points in order to focus more on the actual angle.

I seriously just think the "why" of why he's acting like Savage is because it's a funny gimmick. TNA never really gave a concrete reason of how a Savage impersonation morphed into him actually pretending he is Savage. Personally, I think "he does it because he likes it" is good enough for me.

Ha. Figured you would attack him. He was a comic book geek that wanted to be a superhero so bad that he made himself one and called himself Hurricane Helms. As time went on, he ceased being that geek and started to believe he was the Hurricane. Got ya.

Ha. Figured you would attack him. He was a comic book geek that wanted to be a superhero so bad that he made himself one and called himself Hurricane Helms. As time went on, he ceased being that geek and started to believe he was the Hurricane. Got ya. easy easy easy. i didn't attack him (why would i he is one of my favorites on the current roster), and you didn't get me. i honestly didn't remember exactly how helm's transformation took place. i wasn't trying to say it didn't happen, simply that i didn't remember the details of it but still enjoyed it. the details of this one may be a bit ambiguous but that doesn't mean i will write it off for that fact. basically lethal was a macho man geek that could impersonate him and it made people laugh. so he donned an outfit resembling a macho man outfit and wore it to the ring. as time went on, he ceased being lethal impersonating macho man and became lethal who thinks he is macho man. just trying to help answer your question.

I figure he was impersontaing the man so much that it just started to infect him, picture him at home having random Macho fits, and then wondering what the hell was happening to him until he was full-blown (pause) Macho Man.
All they need now is to have segments where Savage is really in his dreams talking to him as he sleeps.
