ok, i haven't watched tna in a good long while now, but i have always been a fan of dustin rhodes.
i just watched the videos on the tna site about this new gimmick, and while i think dustin is pulling it off wonderfully, i just have to ask: is the character as interesting as these 4 short videos suggest? if so, i may have to watch again.

Chocolate Rain is a better gimmick.

It could ALWAYS be worse. They could've brough in Prince Iaukea and called him Purple Reign, which would ahve been bad on every conceivable level. Hell, I'm still waiting for TAFKA Prince to hit that damn second rope jumping DDT that he used as a "finisher" but never got within two feet of the guy he was aiming for, yet somehow still one f***ing matches with it.

I'll just say it now. I wasn't afraid of Goldust then and now that it looks like he feel down a chimney and became Sootdust I'm still not afraid of him.

people don't like black reign. these are the normal responses as to why.
1. he is fat 2. face paint and an outfit comprised of two colors!? must be a goldust rip off! 3. he can't wrestle a pure technical match or do much highflying so he must suck.

I like the "split personality" thing. I like how they are making it out like Dustin Rhodes and Black Reign are two different people in Dustin's mind. For a while they stopped mentioned Dustin so I thought maybe they dropped the whole split personality thing and just made it a "evil Goldust". But then last week they had the actual Dustin on and it reassured me that the split personality was still in effect. Which I liked.

What's this "flip my house" line I keep hearing about? When did he say this?

Personally, I like the split personality character. I don't understand all the hate. Yeah, he's fat. But so was his daddy, and he's one of the most revered wrestlers of all time.

but, is the character interesting? He's more interesting when they have Dustin and Black Reign appear on the same show, like they did on this Impact.

I find him interesting he's more like a Hardcore Goldust, and Black Reign creeps me out more than goldust, becuase Black Reign is actually more violent, then goldust

Black Reign is more interesting than Golddust or Dustin Rhodes.

I like it but much people dont. They probably just see him as another ex-wwe/goldust rip-off as stated before. Personally the only problem i see with black reign is that I just dont see where he came from, apart from that i like it.

With Black Reign, they've done a good job of making him appear unable to control himself.
With Goldust, you always knew he used it to get under the opponents' skin. With Reign, he just comes across as pissed at Abyss, and shocked that Abyss would have the audacity to fight back.

He sucks. He's not worth a second look. I don't think he was even worth a first look. Everyone's given their reasons, so there's no need adding to it.

I find the character meh. I never want to see him in a wrestling ring ever again. Oh yeah, the 'rat' is a stupid addition. Generally, I just don't find it amusing.

I think the biggest flaw is the fact that they used Dustin Runnels to play Black Reign. I'd probably like it a lot better if they had used someone else in the split personality psycho character. Hell, if Abyss gives the rat an Earthquake splash and we never see that thing again, that would improve the character in my books too

Black reign is f***ing clown shoes.
When dustin rhodes first came in, he cut an amazing promo, looking legit psycho, then tna goes and ruins it by putting him in the most ridiculous costume ever. Not only that but the character comes across as something straight out of a cartoon. Also if dustin has gone to tna to wrestle, how come he hasnt had a match?! It would be a lot more effective if it was just him wrestling a match and half way thru just flipping and start killing his opponent
