Nash is great on the mic. I think this could work.

I would laugh if they switched Don and Kevin, and Kevin could do color, and Don could be Angle's lackey. My only issue with Kev on the mic is that he's much too laconic sometimes to be doing color work. Save for some short anger bursts that he's had lately, he sometimes seems to me like he's becoming the Dude of professional wrestling. Tenay's a spaz enough to cover for him. You know, Kevin as part of a three man team wouldn't be a bad idea. Just not with Don AND Tenay. You need to replace once, at least. Keep Tenay, he was actually quite good in WCW when he wasn't the main guy. He knows his stuff. Get rid of West, have Tenay, Nash and a new lead announcer and you've got it set. Now, the only question is who...

That would simply rule... but I do like the aforementioned Shane Douglas idea.

I've been pushing for Franchise to take over for West or to be added as a 3rd man, but since it does look like he's out of wrestling, I wouldn't hold my breath at it happening anytime soon.

Not to mention, if it's anything like his past jobs, he burned every bridge he had. The dude's like General Sherman on the Goldengate.

i would much rather have a heel don west. it seemed as though they were hinting at it on the last impact when a.j. hit the low blow and west defended it saying "oh he has to do what he has to do".
i would love west to turn evil, seduce roxxi laveaux and convince her to join his army and change her name to "roxxi evil witch of the (don) west" and start managing a group of heels a la the heenan family. telling abyss that his boy a.j. styles would annihilate him a backwards moonsault. much good could come from this.

Assuming Tenay and Nash were back-ups in a three-man team, who would be a good lead announcer for TNA? Any ideas?

I demand they get rid of Don West and Mike Tenay.
they are the worst team in pro wrestling. Mike Tenay is the worst PBP guy ever, yes even worse than Michael Cole and Todd Grisham
Lead Announcer would be:
Tony Schaivone or Scott Hudson

Raven has a deal of announcing experience, but barring him, I guess you could always just bring in a guest announcer for a feud, such as having Roode call a Joe match, or vice versa. Try out if a three man team is too crowded.

Sure, you get a few people who suck at it, but when it's guys like Cade and Murdoch with charisma, it can really add to a segment.

I'd love to see Nash (or Douglas) in the heel commentator position. It would be a calming influence on Mike "I'm one OH MY GOD! away from a heart attack" Tenay. Also Jesse Ventura was never an easily excitable type on commentary, and for me Ventura is right behind Heenan in terms of color guys.

IAlso Jesse Ventura was never an easily excitable type on commentary, and for me Ventura is right behind Heenan in terms of color guys. Ventura often got excited; usually in an angry tone, when the heels were getting hosed or when Hogan was wrestling dirty or just when he'd go head-to-head with Monsoon or (most of the time) McMahon. Nash wouldn't have any of that excitement in his voice as a commentator. Also, someone mentioned it previously, Nash doesn't seem like he would be willing to put any of the wrestlers over, as any good announcer should do.

I've always liked Mike Tenay, and I have no problem with Don West. I like how "in to the match" they sound, and how they basically mark out like people did during the attitude era, especially when they scream the name of a finisher in unison. It just makes it seem sort of real. Although, no one can touch oldschool Joey Styles. He's (or was) my favorite commentator.......now he just sounds like a tool.
BTW, if they were to replace West, I'd like to see Schiavonnie return. I don't know, but I've always liked him, and Tenay together. Just a couple of uptight-ish middle aged white guys overselling things, and getting really pissed when something diabolical happens. I guess that's why I don't mind West. He's sort of like a loud substitute for Schiavonnie, with a raspy-ass voice.
Although, I propose a question to all of you.......who has less of a neck, West or Schiavonnie?

any thing would be better then their current announcers. Still no announce team will ever live up the the 2 best. Gorilla and The Brain or Vetura.
