I observe and occasionally post on a local wrestling message board here in the Pacific Northwest. It's by no means the best, but it's one of the best-known. Anyway, this board has some of the most petty, overly-critical posters I've ever seen, starting rumors and facilitating flame wars over which local promotion is the best (you should have seen when one promotion had it's license suspended, then they act as if it was flat-out revoked, then people erroneously blaming another promotion for getting it pulled). Even some local workers post under pseudonyms and bash other workers and promotions they don't like, and they just add fuel to the fire. Oh sure there's the occasional reasoned debate, but not without back-handed snide comments from someone who believes the other person is wrong.
My question is, do any of you from other regions in the country (NE, SW, Cali, Texas, etc.) have one or more message boards that foster less intelligent thought and debate and more gossipping, back-biting and name-calling? Oregon can't be the ONLY area where this is happening...

I could've sworn you were describing the Nor Cal Boards. The Nor Cal wrestling scene isn't high brow here to begin with. :-( Add that to the fact that the internet seems to bring out the worst in people and ya... our Nor Cal based... everything tends to be down right horrid. |

It seems like there's APW fanboys and SPW fanboys. APW ones think they are the best because of Beyond The Mat. And for some odd reason the SPW fanboys act like SPW is ROH in Sacramento and that Adam Thornstowe is Bryan Danielson with a mohawk. But APW fanboys think the opposite and they like...ummm KAFU I think. It seems like the only time they agree is when they are making fun of Porter or Pogo. I hate the Nor Cal scene and can't wait to move. |

If you ever have a chance to see a CZW event live, you'll also get a look into the shallow end of humanity's gene pool. Think back when the CZW/ROH feud was going and how the CZW "shooters" kept making videos in response to Cornette.
In general, it's not uncommon to see little kids (talking about 6-7 years old) at the Cage of Death show.
You also have an entourage of morons from New Jersey that show up to events with matching t-shirts and call themselves The Jersey Boys.
And there was one uber-fan at the annual ToD that I swear it looked like he was gonna go down on Nick Gage like a circus seal after Gage won the tournament.

lol it must be the same way everywhere, because our indyboard for the tri-state area is the exact same, there is hardly any positive posts and every show result post is nothing but flaming and hate on that certain show. It is the same everywhere. Trust me, I go to First Class Pro-Wrestling in Bushnell, and the promoters can't even sell the damn venue properly. Sadly, that fed is still alive due to former WWE stars coming in and wrestle.
