I honestly would like to know which one it is. I assume NOAH because of all the publicity but I know there is All Japan and New Japan. Of all the companies over in Japan though NOAH is in the top three right?

I've always took it that New Japan and NOAH are the top two in Japan...and though All Japan was the original king it isn't in the same league anymore.
However, it does depend on what criteria you are judging by. If you're talking wrestling talent, Zero-One deserves a call, but just by sheer numbers, I'd say NJPW and NOAH (i.e. WWE is the top company in America, but doesn't necesarily have the best product.)

Plus, NOAH right now is essentially All Japan circa 1990-1995, with Kobashi, Misawa, Taue, and even Kawada and Vader have made appearances in the past.

NJPW > NOAH > AJPW > Z1MAX > DG
In terms of numbers.
NJPW > Z1MAX > DG > NOAH > AJPW
In terms of top to bottom wrestling quality in my opinion. (It's all relative though, each one has their own style, so whatever your tastes are this could change. I wouldnt be surprised to see someone have the same list but backwards. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.)
Note I dont really follow Big Japan, sans the odd match, so I have no idea how they rank. They offer a very diferant product though from the main 5. Then there are feds like MichiPro, DDT, El Dorado, ext.

I wouldn't be surprised in the future if NOAH did claim the overall #1 spot but they aren't number one right now. That is New Japan without a doubt.

Business and show Wise it's NJPW Below them is Hustle/NOAH Below those guys is AJPW Zero-1, BJPW, and Dragon Gate are the top 3 indies after those guys... I wouldn't be surprised in the future if NOAH did claim the overall #1 spot but they aren't number one right now. That is New Japan without a doubt. NOAH won't have a future since they insist on keeping the veterans on top. REally though New Japan and All Japan have done fantastic jobs at building up the future of puro. IMO AJPW puts on the best shows, NJPW puts on the best put together shows, and HUSTLE covers my whole japanorama fandom. Zero-1 brings quality. Dragon GAte brings the Quality. the Quality in NOAH lies entirely in the tag teams/light heavies

Well once Old Man Winter and company decide to finally retire NOAH could realistically shoot into the stratosphere of puro because their tag teams and light heavies put on some of the greatest matches I've ever seen.
However, you're right, they are destined to fail if they don't stop keeping old men on top.

Well even if the old guard in NOAH fades away, its not helping their future, unless they start giving these guys the rub asap. I think the hope in NOAH is that Kobashi has a few years on top left in him. It is pretty obvious they dont have a lot of trust in the next crop of guys there.

NJPW's future is their present right now while guys like chono, tenzan, and Nagata are taking a backstep and putting over the likes of Togi Makabe, Tanahashi, and Nakamura...
AJPW's scene is filled with veterans and younger guys working together and getting more over due to this.
seriously...
it's only noah that seems to be behind when it comes to building up credible main eventers
Really NOAH needs to take chances like WWE did when they pushed Cena, Batista, and Orton...
Yeah WWE is better at building up future talent than NOAH...

If we are going drawing and money, It's New Japan no doubt. But in terms of fun, It's NOSAWA's Group and 666. I mean how can you hate Takayama as Stan Hansen and Minoru Suzuki as Brody?

NJPW has been the top drawing company in Japan for quite a long time now.
I feel the best singular matches can be found in NOAH, but the best structured shows and booking direction (among the big current 3) is probably found in NJPW at the moment. As has been said, NOAH has GOT to move beyond the old guard. They've got plenty of great young talent, time to let them shine (and not just a token, minor title reign for Marufuji, either!).
But, like in America, there is great variety to be found in the Japanese wrestling scene if you take a look at the big indies, along with the big companies. There's basically something for everyone between the big ones (NJPW, AJPW, NOAH), the next tier (HUSTLE and ZERO-ONE MAX), and the big indies like Dragon Gate.

No company will ever come close to AJ 90-95. Vader hasn't appeared in years and is retired, Kawada was a one-off appearance, and he got into trouble with one of the NOAH directors so he won't be coming back. It's easily NJ, and always has been NJ. Though Dragon Gate does run the most shows out of everyone. In Rank it would probably be: NJ NOAH HUSTLE Dragon Gate - DG draws better on a consistent basis than AJ/Z1 All Japan Zero-1 Big Japan

Sorry for not clarifying. Seriously, if I have to see Tamon Honda or Akira Taue one more time, I might go jump off the roof. I'll still always mark for Misawa though, no matter how ridiculously bad his matches may get in the future. I heard his GBHVI match with KENTA wasn't bad though.
