when people think about all the great matches in wrestling history, it always seems that tag team wrestling is, quite unfairly, overlooked. so to cast a little bit of light on the slightly sexually tense genre that is tag team wrestling, i've set up this thread. post your favourite matches and moments, or simply discuss tag teams, double team moves, and even the decline of matching headbands in the 21st century. www.megavideo.com/?v=RNDJRMQHuk.youtube.com/watch?v=bTutIqCV7b0

I don't feel there have been any better tag teams than the Hart Foundation or the British Bulldogs. Both teams set the standard, and really improved tag team wrestling as a whole.
The Bulldogs had two finishers I loved:
1) Davey Boy would have power-slammed the legal man; before he could go for the pin, the other guy would run in. Davey would scoop him up across his shoulders in a fireman's carry, then back up to his own corner and tag Dynamite. Dynamite would then climb the turnbuckle, hop up onto the back of the guy Davey was holding across his shoulders, then divebomb the legal man, who was still on his back in the middle of the ring.
2) The legal man would be on his back, then Dynamite would run to Davey, who'd press Dynamite above his head in a gorilla slam position. Davey would then launch Dynamite across the ring and down onto the prone opponent.
I loved the Hart Attack, too.

i don't think i could pick my favorite tag team now, or even comprehend my favorite of all time. i enjoy different teams for different reasons.
another tag team move i love is an irish airborn move i do not know the name of. one member picks up an opponent in a fireman's carry position, while the other climbs to the top rope. then the top rope member jumps off performing a double stomp on the neck (sometimes back) of the opponent, then jumps off and lands on his back with both knees held up. his partner then performs a death valley driver onto the double knees of his partner.
can look brutal.

Believe it or not, the Dudley Boyz remain my favorite tag team of all time.
They were phenomenal heels and hilarious faces. I always looked forward to any match or segment featuring them. And of course, D-Von's promo at Barely Legal, while pretty much taken straight out of the first chapter of "Getting Heel Heat for Dummies," was great. I really can't see enough good things about the Dudleys.
Team 3-D on the other hand...

Well, Briscoes/MCMGs at Good Times Great Memories was incredible, so it deserves to be mentioned, 'Rana. That is the clear #1, but the following are also in the discussion:
Olsens v. Up In Smoke - CHIKARA's Cibernetico and Robin. Hardys v. Cade and Murdoch from Judgment Day. XXX v. LAX (Ultimate X) Morishima and Dragon v. KENTA and Nigel (Respect Is Earned) Claudio and Matt Sydal v. The Briscoes (also Respect Is Earned) Marifuji and Ibushi v. KENTA and Ishimori (Meltzer gave it 4 3/4, I believe).

I always love Tag Team wrestling. It always sucks when promotions don't take a lot of interest in tag teams (for example is during the period in the WWF/E when they had four teams (The Headbangers, The Body Donna's, HOG and PIG, and I forget the other team) that always faced each other in every PPV.).
I like a good balance between single and tag team wrestling, which of course doesn't have to be 50/50. Just a reasonable amount for each.
And as for the most part, I don't like how tag teams that are put together of teams that are of big stars. Granted there are times when it does work, but after awhile it gets old imo.

Demolition is probably my favorite team from when I was a kid.
Now it's the Briscoes.
I also miss the CHIKARA Tag World Grand Prix.

Loved the Hart Foundation when I was little; no surprise Bret ended up being my favorite singles wrestler.
And it's hard to mention current tag MOTY candidates without referencing a couple Briscoes vs. Steen/Generico matches!
Oh, and with the Bulldogs finisher, I love that, when Roderick Strong and Jack Evans used to team up as Generation Next, they'd pull the move "Ode to the Bulldogs": they'd lay out the legal man, then Roddy would pick the other guy up Torture Rack style, stand by the turnbuckles, then Jack would climb up, jump onto the guy Roddy's holding, spin, and execute a dive onto the legal man, while Roddy then drops the other guy into a backbreaker.
