I cannot be the only one who sees this as an asshole-ish thing to do.

THat was horrible, and the announce team not knowing what was going to happen made it look even worse IMO.

At least Wendi hasn't gone on to bitch about it for 20 years. Vince can be an evil bastard though, I think we can all agree.

Very interesting story. I guess I'm one of the few people who doesn't take a side in the Vince/Hart thing. I can understand both their views and why both of them did what they did. In this case though, it's pretty clear what the problem was. Make sure your contracts are up to date when you're a title holder. Pretty simple. I'm amazed Vince let that rule slip with Jarrett. Not that the world wouldn't have been a better place without having experienced a steroid abusing woman with so much plastic surgery she borders on cyborg versus a guy who prances about dressed in plastic with Christmas lights talking about country music in a match where they beat each other with vaccuum cleaners.
.... Man, I think I just set a record for most topic switches in a single paragraph. AFK, need to take my ridalin.

It's pretty awkward seeing Wendi after the bell rings. She just keeps hitting Moolah and Moolah doesn't do anything except for just raising her hands and walking around.

Well rumor was she tried to hold Vince up for Money, so I don't blame Vince for doing it.

Well rumor was she tried to hold Vince up for Money, so I don't blame Vince for doing it. That's the story I heard, plus she pulled a Medusa Miceli; asking Vince to bring in better competition instead of her wrestling the same 3 or 4 gals. I have no side to choose.

OK if this was a shoot, then why did she bother ripping her mask off?
Also I like how Moolah completely no sold the post match beating. Wendi must have been weak as hell

Moved since it's 20 odd years lol
After seeing it for the 1st time.....wow, you have to feel bad for Wendi
I found it funny though that she did have Moolah down for a legit 3 count after it

What's really funny about this is that they included the entire segment on a Coliseum Video release. You'd think they would've wanted to sweep that under the rug or edit some stuff out at least.

What amuses me first is that HBK stills gets slated for be in on it with Bret, while Moolah, who must have been in on this, doesnt get it.
Personally, i think Vince had every right to take the title off her if she was complaining about competition and holding him up for more money both her, and i still think Vince had to protect his business when he did it again with Bret.
Interesting to see this clip anyway, i've not seen it before, didnt realise it was quite so bad!

Oh please. She wasn't holding Vince up for more money -- this isn't like Warrior refusing to go on unless Vince gave him a huge bonus.
Her contract had expired, and for her new contract, she was asking for more residuals from her merchandise sales - a perfectly reasonable request by most people's standards. Richter was actually a bit of a draw at that point, and was selling a lot of merchandise. After months of negotiations, Vince approached her before this match with a new contract -- which he said would be the company's final offer. She asked if she could have her attorney look it over before she signed, and Vince agreed. She then headed out to the ring, for what was supposed to be a squash match, and ended up getting screwed out of the title.
This was a pretty sleazy act on Vince's part, and on Moolah's part for that matter. Richter was one of Moolah's proteges, and had actually been trained by her. To be betrayed by your own mentor has to be a pretty disheartening.

Was there evidence that Wendi tried to hold up Vince for money?
If not, then that rumor is nothing but a myth.
