I really don't get it. What's so bad about the "this is awesome" chant? Everyone seems to crap on it. It's played out.. It was special the first few times, but now it's just old hat. It seems like everything is awesome now according to some. Sharkboy hits his finisher: "THIS IS AWESOME". Bobby Roode gets thrown to the outside: "THIS IS AWESOME". Ken Kennedy says his name: "THIS IS AWESOME!" The perfect example, at Nite 1 of GBH in Philly last week, some goober started chanting "THIS IS AWESOME" BEFORE THE BELL RANG for the NOAH main event. I spearheaded the "DID'NT START YET" chant which promptly took over the crowd...

Lately, I've been a bit worn out on chants. I'd rather everyone just collectively go "YAY!" for a while than a "This is awesome!" chant. Though overall, it rarely detracts from a match for me.

yeah i felt it detracted from the match, the drama they were attempting to build, and really took away from the story.
a crowd can be loud, but not like that.
OOH I CRAP ON EVERYTHING seriously i just don't like that match and think ROH is overrated.

I have to say, if I would have been there for Joe/Kobashi, I would have probably chanted "This is awesome!" before the match started. Even if it was the worst match ever (it wasn't), Kobashi in America is something that happened once before and may never happen again. That's pretty awesome to me at least.

As great as the dvds are there is nothing like seeing ROH live. I am a recent ROH fan myself My first live shows were Glory by Honor night one and two. They were both well worth the 8 hour trip there.
