I'm not talking about DDP, Savage, or Hall and Nash showing up for a couple of month and leaving again. Or signings people nobody cared about Dustin Rhodes, Test, Jr. Fatu. I'm talking about the most ground breaking signings in TNA history. Ones that seemed like a big deal at the time.

Angle for one reason.

There was a YouTube video posted of someone who was in the Impact Zone when it was announced. The reaction in that arena defined exactly what the world was thinking about it. For one second, before all the Insane Angle rants, before all the ramblings and the DUIs, The World Marked out.

And for one night only, the Impact Zone felt like 10,000 seated arena.

There may never be anything like it again in Wrestling.

I have the video in my iTunes, but the video when Kurt Angle makes his first appearance on iMPACT! a year ago. Loved the emotion, and the hardway head butt.

Angle, namely because the others were a teeny bit more obvious. Booker probably wasn't going to want to go to the indies. Christian either. Sting seemed fine with just doing the casual appearance every couple of years.

When WWE released Kurt Angle, we all basically thought he was done, at least as far as wrestling was concerned. Suddenly, Cornette tells us we're getting the Olympic Gold Medalist, and hot damn, wrestling was pretty fun again.

I liked Christian Cage better since TNA seemed like a no name indy company becoming an overnight success. Angle's entrance was great, but by that time TNA had already been established as something growing.

Angle for sure. His appearance was a total surprise and it truly "Shocked the World!" Christian Cage would be a close second because I was surprised that he would leave WWE and a big money contract and take the risk by singing with TNA when it had just gotten on Spike TV. He gambled big and it paid off in a huge way for him. "What about him? What about Raven?" Raven is a big ommision in this poll because his arrival in TNA during its first year was very shocking and set the old Asylum on fire. Honorable mention goes to Jeff Hardy because when he showed up to wrestle AJ Styles on the anniversary show, I was totally surprised (in a good way). I wasn't surprised about the rest of the names on the list because I knew that either they were leaving WWE on bad terms (Rhino, Team 3D, Booker T), were completely misused by WWE while they were there (Scott Steiner) or would never sign with WWE at all (Sting)
