...at a local show about five minutes away from where I live. It was actually at the same venue that the Mass Transit Incident occurred about ten or more years ago. It was a pretty good show, I'm not going to go too in depth about it, but Justin Credible vs. The Sandman headlined in a no-DQ match with Sycho Sid vs. 2 Cold Scorpio directly in the midcard and Spike Dudley vs. John Walters was right under it. Other than that the right of the card was pretty WrestleCrap worthy. One guy had a full robot gimmick and they were actually selling WrestleCrap signed DVDs at the gimmick table, so yeah...
A few personal highlights:
Spike Dudley playing his LSD gimmick to it's full.
Having the chance to shoot the crap with Sandman and Credible as they walked around before the event and during intermission. I chose not to bother them though.
Seeing Sycho Sid either in complete heel mode or just really pissed off at this one dude in the audience who was heckling the crap out of him.
The Sandman shooting on Paul Heyman calling him a "fat liar" at the end of his match and the genuinely emotional display by both Sandman and Credible thanking the fans for the memories and the loyalty. They ended up inviting a woman with both of their faces tattooed on either side of her forearms into the ring. It was a strange little moment because Sandman got on the mic completely blitzed telling Credible how much he respected him throughout the years and how Heyman wanted to make Justin the next Sandman when he left for WCW and then stating that he couldn't be more proud of him while handing him his Singapore cane. Pretty cool moment, I gotta admit.
Moment of the Night:
Pounding fists with Sid...I've been waiting to do that for over a decade. He kind missed on the contact a little bit, but it made my night just to have one of my childhood heroes acknowledge me and scream in my face...it was AWESOME. Sid's still got it.
Overall, the event was fairly decent, far better than I had expected but nowhere near the level of entertainment RoH puts on with their shows. It was exactly what I thought it would be: a great nostalgia trip.
