I hate Richard Belzer...seriously I do.
I only like him in Law and Order he and Ice-T have great chemistry.

how long did belzer struggle? half a second? I think this was planed, less the drop that cracked Belzer's head.

It's not Like on TV when the guy is struggling for his life and somehow breaks out. Contrary to much popular belief, Hogan knows his stuff outside of the ring, and he primarily only knew those kinds of things back then, as that is what he was used to. When you do a chokehold in real life, and in the proper way, you only need about 4 or 5 pounds of pressure and they'll drop like a ton of bricks if they're standing up. Richard beltzer at that time was in his late 30's/early 40's and weighed a 170 lbs soaking wet, and Hogan at that time is 6'7", 300 lbs, full of addrenalin after being made fun of, and only knew the legit way of performing a chokehold. Not a good scenerio.

Belzer mentioned this on one of his comedy albums, and he swore it was legit. He mentioned that Mr. T was also on the show with Hogan. He mentioned that he used some word that Mr. T didn't understand, and he said "I don't know that word. I'm from the street." And Belzer replied, "Well I'm from the street, and I LEARNED that word." Or something close to that, I'm just relying on memory here.
