Below is the infamous match where supposedly, Brody had razor blades attached to his fingers and shot on Luger, forcing Luger to hightail it out of the ring. Enjoy youtube.com/watch?v=kCmBVrdPDbQ

I have seen it and read about Brody no-selling Luger's shots, but I haven't until today heard about razorblades attached to Brody's fingers even when I've read accounts of Luger's description of it.

Too bad Luger wasn't able to knock him out or something.

Brody is a god. Luger couldn't knock him out on his best day.

I don't think he would've tried anyways. I remember hearing that it wasn't really Brody and Luger that had a problem as it was Brody and the promoter (which happened a lot in various territories that Brody would go to).

I've seen it, but, for the most part, it's a pretty uneventful match. One like it is Antonio Inoki v. the Great Antonio. Antonio no-sells the whole match, until Inoki beats the shit outta him.

What's the deal with Brody supposedly having razor blades? If that was true, how could the match have gone on for so long, and how could lex have wrestled without getting cut up?
Anyway, I'm no fan of Lex as a wrestler, but it was very unprofessional for Brody to no-sell the match. I don't care how over he was; what he did was disgraceful to professional wrestling (Same holds true for Gypsy Joe's no-selling for New Jack; Gypsy Joe may have pioneered deathmatch wrestling, but that doesn't excuse him from selling and putting over newer talent).

I don't think he would've tried anyways. I remember hearing that it wasn't really Brody and Luger that had a problem as it was Brody and the promoter (which happened a lot in various territories that Brody would go to). I've always heard that it was because the promoter was pushing Lugar to the moon despite Lugar's being greener than Kermit. This got into Lugar's head and he started disrespecting other wrestlers, and this match was Brody "teaching him a lesson". Then again, I also heard that Brody had Freddy Kreuger-style blades on him at the time... sure didn't look like that to me. I laughed at the 'pause' in the match when Lugar finally realizes that he might be trouble...

I got like 50 messages on Youtube, thanking me for uploading that match. If anyones seen the Fonzie shoot, it puts the match into good perspective. Since, he was the ref'ing the match. He says that Luger and Brody didn't talk much before the match and that it was just miscommunication. Brody is probably the kinda guy that felt like doing whatever came to his mind. So, if he wasn't feeling the match, he probably decided to have some fun with the match.

Just read a little bit from the Alfonso shoot, and he says nothing of blades on Brody's fingers. As I had also never heard of such, the blade thing is just rubbish, more than likely, another wrestling urban legend that doesn't fit together.

I had heard about him having razor blades but it may've just been rubbish that was tacked onto an already true event. Still, it's a pretty historical match even if the video quality isn't good

Brody was a douche for acting like that. I heard he wanted to teach the "football guy" Lex Luger a lesson, but I don't think it was appropriate at all. You may no sell one or two shots or work stiff and put on a legit hold, but you don't crap all over the booking by shooting like that.
Too bad he was murdered, but his attitude probably was at least part of the motive of that crime.

Top stars doing things like this wasn't all that uncommon, especially ones like Brody that didn't stay in one territory for long. A lot of the top guys were very protective of their spots. Brody was known for being a guy who didn't like to play by rules other than his own, but Puerto Rico was/is known as something of a hellhole for wrestling.

Wow, how often do you see a DQ in a cage match? I think that's the only case I've ever observed.

Although it's quite amusing, what Brody did was completely unprofessional. Especially for the fans who bought tickets to see the match. Stiff him in the ring if you have to but don't act like an ***.
