So I started going back through all of the old TNA weekly PPV days on YouTube and I can't help but think the change to the 6 sided ring has hurt TNA.
When TNA began using the 6 sided ring, it seemed to fit their style with the X Division and such, but over the past 2 years they have continually signed and booked older wrestlers, bigger guys and basically WWE type workers. The 6 sided ring just becomes too small with these guys in there.
Would it be wise for TNA to revert back to the traditional ring? I believe so. I truly believe that TNA could really be a true major league promotion, starting with this change. I know of many long time wrestling fans who do not watch TNA mainly due to the ring issue. With the financial backing they have with Panda Energy and the connections in the business they have just with the guys on their roster, they could really become a true alternative to WWE. That would be good for the entire industry. We need another promotion to truly challenge Vince to make good TV.
So what do you all think? Do you like the 6 sided ring? They could bring it out once or twice a year for special matches and such.

NO!Okay, deep breath. Sorry. No, The 6 sided ring gives them a stand out feature that every company needs. Maybe instead of making a superficial change that will have no real effect on the future of the company, focus should go on that which truly makes a wrestling company, the talent. They have talent that can work quite well in the 6 sided ring and guys like Angle, Sting, Team 3D and, Christian have adapted quite well to it as well. If people have trouble watching the matches because the ring has two extra sides to it, than they are paying attention to the wrong thing.

Sure the 6 sided ring screams alternative, but their company screams WWE.... if their ring is the only alternative, might as well keep it.

I personally don't know ANYONE who doesn't watch TNA simply because of the ring having two more sides than normal...that being said, I think they should keep it...

I don't like the ring. I don't like that TNA tries to re-invent the wheel so much

I like Six Sided Cage Matches more for some reason. I don't know why.

I like Six Sided Cage Matches more for some reason. I don't know why. You probably like them because with the diamond pattern of caging in a hexagon ring, it reminds you of bee nests... bringing out your inner fandom of B. Brian Blair... that you dare not mention for fear of being HUMBLED BY ASSOCIATION.

I think any complaining about the ring really covers up some other problem with the product. I've never really noticed the ring a whole lot when I watch it, and I haven't even watched it enough to get used to it. It's never seemed that relevant to the action going on in or out of the ring to me.

I have to vote YES on this one. I love TNA, but the six-sided ring should've stayed south of the border. It comes off too gimmicky to me. I guess its because in my 29 years, I've always known wrestling to be performed in a 4-sided ring, whether I was watching WWF, WCW, NWA, AWA, or even GLOW. I like the two seperate entry ways, but the six-sided ring doesn't do it for me.

If the camera work wasn't so bad and shoddy I think most people wouldn't have a problem with the ring.

I've always hated the thing, but they had it for to long to change it.

I kind of want them to change it, I can never take a match seriously in the ring for some reason, it never seems like a "big match" to me unless it is in a 4 sided ring.
Maybe they should just use it for special occasions like for the Six Sides of Steel.

I still maintain that any issue about the ring should be part of a whiny heel character in TNA. Some newcomer who arrives to the company and bitches about the ring, stating that its a health risk and refusing to wrestle in it unless he gets some form of compensation (getting a 20 count instead of a 10 count, allowed a 3 strike system when using weapons).
Finally TNA management along with a babyface who's sick of his whining, work out an agreement with the heel, in which the two will have a match-up on PPV (one that could have been taped before or takes place in an arena away from the show) in a four sided ring, with the stipulation that if the heel wins, TNA will re-institute the old ring, but if the face wins, the heel must wrestle in the 6 sided ring without any handicaps.

Nah. It works for em and changing it would only be for the sake of change. I honestly don't even notice the difference now till people bring attention to it.
