Yeah pretty much, people who hated the PCS hated them because the x-guys weren't wrestling. Senshi got to use his unused mic skills, he's given some really good promos, Jay and Sonjay got to show their lighter sides and sense of humor, Aries got to get his character over, Shelley actually got mic time. When it was the Detroit heroes, Sabin, Shelley, and Nash as the new PP got to get a lot of screen time, and only recently were Sabin and Shelley allowed time to get over the type of guys they are. THis worked to their advantage. Without the backlund fued or being teamed with Nash and getting the mic time, they'd be a really good tag team without any character. Right now they are a lot like the Outsiders, in the form of really good cruiserweights. So they are like if HBK/x-pac were to ever tag team. The PCS was good for Lethal and Dutt, I'm not sure how much the MCMG owe to it though. Sabin was already over in his cocky heel character before MCMG formed.

BTW, is there ANY update on Scott Hall? I actually was feeling the same as Nash (whether kayfabed or not) when he said that he was worried about his health. I guess the whole Benoit thing made this "main event no-show at PVV"-stuff kind of creepy and you fear the worst.
As much as I was disappointed with the main event being ruined, I worry far more for Scott Hall knowing that his personal life anything, but problem-free...

Lethal/Dutt were ok, but Lethal's popularity didn't take off till he started doing the Macho Man gimmick much later. Senshi isn't exactly breaking down any walls and the PCS didn't really do much for him.

Didn't Senshi do the same stuff he always did in the PCS? Just act grumpy and scowl at people? I don't really think it "got him over" or "established a new character".

Yeah, pretty much and didn't get any title shots or any progress out of it either. It didn't do any good for Austin Starr/Aries either.

Yeah I'm not citing the PCS in general. I'm just saying afterwards, the aftershock of that whole thing where guys finally had character.
well the jackass thing didn't work because well that was stupid. Everything else though was good.
i'm not saying Sabin wasn't over, I'm saying that due to Kevin Nash and SHelley, he was able to get mic time and actually form a character for himself.
There's a reason why the Kevin Nash and MCMG segments rocked, because they played off each other really well.
I'm not saying Nash is the reason for the team becoming as popular as they are. I am saying due to their association with Nash they were given time to get themselves over. Plus keeping up with Kevin Nash in an ad-libbed promo shows some real promise for Shelley and Sabin.

No. He's back in ROH, now. And I'm sorry. I just don't see anything that PCS did for anyone. Rather than being "Generic X-Division Wrestler #12," a guy was turned into "Kevin Nash's Generic Lackey #17." This is where I reiterate that Vince Russo is an idiot. EDIT: And, I just have to ask, if the PCS skits helped the X-Division so damn much, why has it become an afterthought? There are no X-Division matches anymore, only an ongoing "X-Division VS the World" angle.

does ANYONE remember Alex "Baby Bear" Shelly? Guh, don't remind me. Alex Shelley, Abyss, and Goldylocks. Probably the biggest mismatch is the history of wrestling stables. I wasn't even familiar with Shelley at the time, and I knew he deserved better.

I just saw the Samoa Joe "shoot" and I gotta say IMO it was weak. He came across as a gigantic cry-baby and kept rambling on and on about the same thing over and over again. I think it would've been better had he just made his point and got down to business. And then the payoff was Eric Young. Who would you have put out there? Who would I have put out there? Well that's a no-brainer The Missing Link

Joe has nothing to be apologizing for and if Big Lazy doesn't like it well then he should consider that his cue to step up his game. Once again, Nash did nothing wrong. Hell, he spent all of last year hanging out with the X-Division, getting guys like Shelley and Lethal over. Nash has been nothing but a professional for a long time and the only thing he's guilty of here is having faith in his old friend. As to the whole Nash put over the X division argument The X division didn't need putting over it needed the writers to stop man-crushing over Jeff Jarrett for a minute and actually realize there are other guys on the roster.

The problem with e PCS is that afterwards TNA did NOTHING with the wrestlers.

I wonder how many times Joe watched Bash at the Beach 2000 before cutting this promo.

I thought it within about 10 seconds of the promo starting. It has all the hallmarks including working the jackass Wade Keller with the garbage backstage stories.

I thought the best part of the Joe promo was while everyone else had blank dumbfounded looks on their faces, AJ Styles stayed completely in character. When Joe said "... and we have Superstars", AJ starts dancing around like a goofball, like he's all that.
