I don't watch TNA regularly, but I caught some of it tonight and Robert Rhoode is teaming up with Kurt Angle. I am surprised, since I am guessing he is in the main event scene now. Do you guys think he is main-event material?
EDIT: I changed it from Petey Williams to Robert Rhode, Freudian Slip. Well Petey won a shot at the the TNA world heavyweight title, so I will ask the question about both men.

No, not at the moment.
He's hardly been on television since Team Canada and he doesn't really have any sort of gimmick.

neither of them are, just putting guys there doesn't make them main event

Roode's well on his way. Petey isn't.

I truly do believe that Roode is a main event caliber talent, so I'm happy to see him doing as well as he is. Petey.... I'm not sure. He's talented, he's..... well, he's not a great talker, but he's not horrible, either, and honestly, he's got the skills, but something's just off about it.

Roode's been slowly but steadily improving, but Petey needs more time. If he legit gets a World Title shot, it'll likely be a one off thing where he can use it as a chance to show that "he belongs", and build from there, kind of like Kaz.

Insert either of these guys into the main event and I guarentee tons of merchandise to be pushed and a nice rating increase. They have the look, the charisma, and the talent on the mic to really be the next huge stars in wrestling. All they are missing is a feud over the world title or a feud with Abyss to really get them noticed.

If the X-Division title was part of the main event, then yes, Petey is main event material. I just don't see him competing for the Heavyweight title. I just wish that TNA gave equal 'weight' to each of the titles (well, not the Women's title... at least, not yet) and not treat the X as a 'lesser' belt.

Petey could be, I'm not sure. He's got good looks, reasonable charisma, solid in-ring skills. The right push, the right feud, it's a possibility. Roode, on the other hand, is pretty much already there. He's an excellent heel, and I really think he's one of TNA's potential big future stars.

not Petey. He couldn't be a main event heel cuz he's too small. And he couldn't be underdog main event face, because he's terrible at being a face.
Roode yes, but he needs a really good angle

Robert Roode could be built up into a main eventer very easily, but he's not quite there yet. Petey Williams on the other hand is so far away from that portion of the card it's laughable. To be honest, outside of the past month or so, he's rarely been featured on the shows since Team Canada had to disband.

Petey is a midcarder. I think he is too small to be main event material. Robert Roode is really on his way to establish himself as a TNA-grown upper-midcarder á la Curt Hennig, Rick Rude, Ted Dibiase and not just because he seems to adapt some parts of their gimmicks and moves, but he really has the in-ring-talent and mic-skills to be considered a great wrestler. I just think that he lacks that certain something to make him a distinguishable legend.

Roode should be in a year or two. Petey's just a boring midcarder.

Roode is well on his way, but Petey's new gimmick is just too retarded to be anything but midcard comedy filler. For the most part it is an annoying gimmick, though I did laugh at him trying to have a pose-down with Steiner.
