I know I'd love to hear 'em. I was a pretty big fan of ol' Bill. Never really got into his kid, though. Name of Jaime, right?

Ah, cool. Since you work Ohio, is Shark Boy's promotion still up and running? I forget the name of it, but it looked really interesting from the little bit I saw of it.

I know his school is but i dont think his promotion is. I know the school is called the "Sharktank" With as much as he gets booked though i doubt he still has the promotion.

Damn, that sucks. I always wondered what a show booked by Shark Boy would look like.

As i look around on different Indyboards and see all the egos and the "anonymous" post by guys you probably travel up and down the road with bashing you it's really makes me wonder why i even still piss around with this god forsaken business. Heres a little background on me: Been in the business 5 years Trained by Bill Dundee Held titles all over Have worked from the biggest to the smallest indy groups. I just don't get this business anymore. I was taught in training to respect the veterans and each other in the business, yet i see these yarders come in do a flippy spot damn near kill there opponent. Not shake hands with everyone in the back. Not watch matches involving the veterans on the show. Shrug off advice from said veterans because they "know what they need to know" I remember breaking in and making sure i was watching the matches of all the veterans on the show from Jake Roberts to Lord Zoltan, but that seems to be out the window with these fly by nighters. Maybe I'm just bitter at a young age, maybe i don't belong anymore, maybe i have too much of an old school mentality to me. The best advice i ever received was from Jim Cornette who told me "don't treat this business as a hobby you got to smurfing live it" I see so many guys who will come to a show and not look any different then someone in the audience. Jeans and a t-shirt are NOT gear. It's sad because i grew up watching this stuff and now i can't even be a fan because all i can think of is how this business has gone to crap since i started in 02. It feels like its time to finish up my bookings and call it a quit, i just don't know anymore. Af***ingMen! I've been a worker for 4 1/2 years now and I feel your pain brother. Respect is a term that is not used in Indy wrestling anymore. I too have worked for about 8 different feds all over the Chicagoland/Indiana/Wisconcin area and it's all the same everywhere I go. You have these yarder punks coming in there wearing whatever Hot Topic pants they bought for $20 and there dirty ass gym shoes and just because they can do a back flip all of a sudden they are workers. Jimmy Hart once told me if you invest in your gimmick the gimmick will invest in you. Very true. You go into the dressing room and do the respectful thing and shake everyones hand, brush your teeth and so on but when these little punks come in they just want to run around like idiots. We have a thing were all rookies do ring crew. I did it for two years before I became a higher up in my home fed. Now these punks get all pissed off cause they feel it's below them to put the ring up. Sure I get stiff with them in the ring to teach them a lesson but that gets old as well. They still don't learn. Indy wrestling is dying off. Anyone nowadays can just walk in and wrestle just as long as they have a little cash that they can line the pockets of the promoter with. One "P" I know will take $50 from anyone and let them get into the ring. It makes me damn sick cause I busted my ass for a couple years training 3 days a week getting black and blue marks all over the side of my body cause we had to run the ropes non-stop to what felt like hours. I damn near knocked myself out taking back bump after back bump over and over again to get it right. These punks never paid their dues by driving 400 miles ONE WAY to make a booking, make only $5.00 and get a $185.00 speeding ticket along the way cause I didn't want to be late. Sorry I'm on a roll now cause this is something I have felt as well for a long time. LOL Another thing is Kayfabe. These little bathtards don't even know what that is!!!! Some of them left the dressing room door open and freaking fans started to walk in, I yell "Kayfabe that door!!" one punk looked at me and asked "what the hell does that mean?" Oh man I'm getting pissed just thinking about that! Anyway enough about my rant. Dude but I still do it. I still wrestle as much as I can and still go for bookings cause I love to wrestle. I cannot get enough of being in front of those people who paid to see the show. In front of 20 people or 1500 my blood gets pumping EVERY time I walk through that curtain. You know that feeling! It's the best feeling in the world. I still get butterflies before a match. I know when I don't have that feeling again is the time to hang it up. My nerves are being tested all the time but I believe in what comes around goes around. These yarders won't last. I've seen a bunch come and I've seen a bunch go. Sure there will be more coming in around the corner but let them have their spot fests and let them think they are the "shit". Workers like us will never become passe. Do your job right, make you matches the best on the card, take care of your oppontent. The people in the crowd will remember the great match you gave. Not the 110 lb yarder who does a back flip but can't put a match together. And if you ever have to work one? Just shoot on the f***er!

Ohhh how did i forget the lost art of kayfabe. I've seen so many times guys fueding with eachother FUEDING go sit in the audience and watch the show or chit chat with fans after just beating the hell out of eachother. What the hell is that all about, did something change and i wasn't informed. Now a days when someone steals your women, slaps your kid, dissrespect your grandma and you guys beat the hell out of eachother your suppose to hang out? You know why payouts aren't what they use to be, because wrestling ain't what it use to be.

No kidding abot the "feuding". I feel the same way. I fought this one kid. Slammed him on the outside, posted him, blah blah blah, worked an angle where I hurt his leg and this was right before intermission. So what does he do DURING intermission? Runs around the armory chasing his friends like a fool. Yeah he was "talked" to when he came in the back.
Dude you sound so much like me. Sure everyone knows the tricks now but I still hold onto kayfabe when I'm working. It just makes it that much better. I stay in gimmick around fans from the second I walk into the place to the second I walk out.
I agree on the payouts. "P"s know they can get away with paying so little cause they know if you don't want to work 12 people right behind you will.

So very very true. I guess that's the main reason I'm starting my company back up so that theres atleast one place to work without a screwed up promoter, and yarders galore

I'm a big Dundee mark. Once kept some rather large lady from chasing him down in a gas station bathroom once.

I've never understood guys who complain about ring gear. Somehow a leather mask is respectable ring gear, but normal clothes aren't? Would you rather that guys like Raven wear a singlet?

I believe he does wear a singlet, as does Balls Mahoney under his gear. It's their way of showing they respect the business.

This thead's a joke, right? I refuse to believe it's some guy who's been doing indy shows for only 5 years complaining about how the young guys have no respect, don't have gear, etc. He's "held titles all over" and worked from "the biggest to the smallest" promotions. I pay attention to all of the "biggest" indy promotions and I've never heard of this guy. I assume the whole thing is meant to be a joke post. If that's not the case..... oh boy.
